GGG do not give in to the crying masses
Let's take this one by one.
" Somebody is a specialist in sociology, seemingly... Guess what? I don't think you have a cultivated idea about any type of masses unless you prove your credentials. " Same crap, somebody has some secret knowledge about what people actually desire. " Make it for the few, get paid with few money-->the game will become a failure. There HAS to be compromise. " Prove floating numbers are not hardcore or will damage the game. Prove that loot options that allow the party leader to select loot system are not hardcore and will damage the game. " Please quote the "mindless" demands mention, or stop generalising and insulting. Also, prove that those demands will make the game (more) mindless (so it's already mindless, hmm?). " That's basically contrary to the GGG vision of accepting feedback. If they would have thought their vision is perfect, they would have not opened any feedback forums, just continued to make the game with not giving a damn about any opinions. " Yes, what do you know, customers influence products. Surprise, surprise. I wouldn't worry too much, I have faith in GGG being smart and accommodating most people while keeping PoE in the parameters of their original vision (visions can change during the years, BTW...) " It's not about giving in :) It's about collaboration. Devs have ideas, present them to the community, which offers feedback, which is processed by the devs and then decisions are made on how to improve the content. SIMPLE. placeholder for creative sig

" My credentials are in my reasoning. Dont understand? Well maybe then you can't hang. Seek knowledge and question my typings, and in years you will have build the understanding to comprehend their whole meaning. " It is just like lobbyism in the US. Keep applying pressure and influence will arise. The magnitude depends on the level of resistance of the establishment. I don't see what could possibly hurt the game if damage numbers were an option, unless you think that making it an option would make it a necessity. Which I can't entirely agree with.
FFA loot has its own thread I know but I'm sure it's generally accepted, it's just the timers that people have problems with. Remember when ranged players didn't even get extra time? I'm sure the 'masses' were a whole lot bigger back then. " I happen to agree with what you say; there is a reason I am a Bronze supporter. Deal is, they have this league mechanism, including a stated intention to have paid leagues in the future. While having some tunables on a league is of unknown complexity to us as their customers, it is my hope that the leagues end up being reasonably tunable. If they do, it should cost comparatively little to have a league where incoming damage from monsters and a few other things are nerfed and buffed in such a way as to keep the "casuals" happy. At the same time, they can concentrate on the dark nature of the game, keep the complexity high, and so forth in the main game branch. I don't give a whit if the casuals get full respecs, play without FFA, and never die. I really don't care. If they happen to buy million of dollars in stash tabs and silly graphic effects in order to make GGG profitable, I actually do care, and I care a lot. " I would not care either, if it was not because i know that for the game to reach this point, the pressure of the nabcakes will have severe consequences that will manifest and affect me as well. I am arguing to resist their influence as much as possible :D I am the light of the morning and the shadow on the wall, I am nothing and I am all.

FFA loot has nothing to do with skill, just like this game really has nothing to do with skill. Its all time spent and aquiring knowledge to make builds. Its not skill based at all. OP sounds like he gets off on acting like he is more "skillful" than others.
He either refuses to understand or fails to understand that people have the ability to play the loot clicking mini game but don't find it fun or entertaining. He lives in his own make believe world. That is all. Oh and this is essentially a looting thread so should be locked like all other looting threads are locked. Standard Forever

" Not really. Because GGG voluntarily opened the feedback sections, and said they welcome feedback, even negative, from anybody. When there are 700 (?hope I'm correct?) of loot system discussion, then it's clear that something does not function properly, for example. The solution to this is personalised content delivery. Same game, different settings, to suit different parts of the player base. Hardcores play hardcore, casuals play sissy-league or whatever was suggested, and so on, they don't bother each other and nobody "cries" for stuff in the forums. placeholder for creative sig

" If you go there, you will find it is rather the rage of a few that build that many pages. I think 30 pages or something was added since yesterday, and it is just a few (myself included) raging at each other nonstop. Your talk of the leagues doesnt sound like something i would object to. I would still play the leage that was adjusted by GGG so for me it's all good. I am the light of the morning and the shadow on the wall, I am nothing and I am all. " If you want mindless play you can just party up with 4-5 other casters...They don't really need to change, add or take away anything to achieve that. Taking other people's items via cheese ball game mechanics doesn't make you hardcore or cut throat either. You are really no different than a person that abuses the laws of a system to get an edge on other people. |

@Cracky :)
We can only hope that GGG remains loyal to their initial vision about the game and don't change it to the likes of krapp and company. I also get a feeling that the diamond supporters, for obvious reasons, who are here because they believe in GGG's ideals and love to play this particular genre, have much higher stakes involved and will be the first on the bitch wagon to GGG if they ever decide to cater to the mindless, casual masses of sheep... asteroid came close to the earth, there's snow in Arizona, star wars and star trek have the same director! Who the hell is playing jumanji? |
