Tencent is the company in china that keeps social score for the government, isnt that enough to justify running for the hills? Do you really want to support them?

Not to mention that they own part of Acti/Blizzard?

Hell, there are so many dark signs over this company its ridiculous.

I guess this is what transparency gets you if your playerbase decide to bite the hand that gave them all this for free.

Is that what happened? I completely understand folks thoughts on this matter and stopping support, but the game is still there. It's the same game as it was 24 hours ago, before this announcement. Wraeclast has not been stolen, yet.

I feel like k1rage was being at least a little joking, there, considering Charan has the title "Ruler of Wraeclast" and Tencent literally purchased an 80% ownership share of GGG.

On the serious side, of course ownership does not always correlate to management, so Wraeclast could very well stay unchanged, which is actually what C is predicting for a while.

The game will certainly gain some important improvements now, things that GGG couldn´t add because the reddit folks would had gone Kamikaze about it. (as seen with Bestiary)

Now that GGG can be ok with losing a few supporters, they might open up POE to a wider audience. Most important will be a trading system, the Chinese game has one I heard, so hopefully it´s coming to us soon as well.

They might also be able to work on a better engine and performance, as the current client is really tanking.

If POE would be some perfect game, I would understand your fears, but so... it has a lot of problems, seriously guys we are running the 4th breach league soon. This has never been the case a few years back, when every league was completely different to the last. It shows, that there is some dust in the machine, the guys couldn´t supply us with fresh content anymore and as always in life, money must have played a role there.

last but not least, be honest. Who would say no to a few million dollars? Those GGG guys did work very hard for more than 10 years, they deserve to cash in now and have a good life.
