Chris and his D3 Interview

Well.... let's see now. GGG makes drops of any good gear for endgame builds nearly impossible as in "we nerfed top end gear drop rates... and then we doubled the nerfs!" and then Chris laments that players are trading for their build enabling endgame gear. DUH!!! Just WTF does GGG expect players to do to get build specific gear that will never drop in the wild because you nerfed the drop chances to NEAR ZERO. Also making the quality of gear be nerfed if you are over-leveled by more than 3 levels is ok for the 10 acts but has no place in the endgame maps where we're constantly running maps that are more than 3 tier maps below our exile level. Totally stupid!

The OP is dead on right that Chris doesn't know his own game. That's what happens when you take a hands off position over coding and balance decisions. Well, the GGG dev team is sailing the PoE ship into the rocks and you (Chris) had better take the helm again and steer PoE back to the way it was 3+ years ago with the prospect of endgame top gear drops available to anyone, not just for the Uber Izaro killing elite players.

Where did GGG go so horribly wrong in deciding a couple of years ago that buffing low leveling unique gear drops and nerfing top end unique drops was the right thing to do? And then Chris state's that he's sorry that he had to be in the auction house more than he played the game to get gear upgrades. Hey Chris!, have you played your own game lately? We don't get shit for drops and have to sit in trade with "seller is AFK" or just no response at all. Many, many, many players get tired of always being gear starved, followed by frustration over the tons of trash that does drop, and then quit. Way to bite the hand that feeds you.
"You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat:

They actually buffed drops of tier 1 uniques by like 5 times a while back. Since then I have found multiple shavs, kaom's, void batteries, soul takers, windrippers etc etc.
It would probably help to actually play the game instead of being a forum warrior complaining about everything and nothing all the time. You aint gonna find this stuff easy (It's easy enough as it is) but it's def out there if you put your mind to farming for these items.

Jezus, you must be the shining star on any forum you enter. You really think a game is even capable of the ridiculous demands you apparently have? Every online game has issues with RMT, botters, scammers etc etc.

It's like fucking saying this city sucks because it has crime, and then randomly adding the police doesn't even do anything about while screaming random fairytales about Rmters.

If you really believe GGG is all in on this why the fuck are you even here? Go make your own game.

Lol, what rediculous demands have I made besides wanting a built-in trading system akin to PoE.Trade? Did I touch a nerve?

Its not random fairy tales. The fact you guys are this dense blows my mind. I dont even want to get into the whole debacle I mentioned. And I don't feel like trying to convince someone with wool over their eyes either.

You know, I am allowed to be the devil's advocate to your ass kissing. People do exist on both sides. PoE is not as good as it could be in relation to RMTers, botters, scammers. There are steps they could take to curb some of it.

Hit with the classic "leave if you don't like it." I post here because I like the game. Ive played this game a long time. I'll continue to play the game a long time. I'm not required to always post glowing reviews and kiss ass just because I like the game and play the game. There can be, and should be, differing opinions besides just a bunch of yes men.

And no one said GGG are in on it. Just they damn sure don't take steps to end it, and in some cases encourage and enable it. While this is not maliciously intentional, it still has the same effect. Go take a look back when people first made +3 bows with the masters. Look at that mess.

Kinda ironic to hit back with the classic 'If you don't think this game is evil reincarnated you are a white knight'. This has nothing to do with being dense or ignorant. I am able to put those things into perspective while you clearly are unable to.

You honestly sound like a kid whoes just seriously bad at this game, and will try whatever he can to get his gratification somewhere else.

Bad at this game? Its an Arpg. Its not LoL, or CS:Go, or Quake, or Overwatch. Its not even a competitive game. You just grind. Time is your skill.

But hey since you wanna go that route:

What is that? How did I get that? Possibly from...winning something? In this game I'm terrible at? Sucks to be so bad at this game.

It's possible to get these from a friend, trade for them, win in streamer contests, and other ways. Not saying you didn't win it yourself, just pointing out that anyone can have anything in PoE.

This. This is why we can't have nice things. You accuse him of not playing enough and being a forum warrior. J'accuse you of playing A LOT and trying to normalize your results with the average player. Or, let's say by some freak chance all your wondrous T1 drops come from reasonably median play times - it ain't because they increased the drop chance, it's because you were freakishly lucky.

I earned it. Ladder race, first to 70. A long time ago. I kind wish I never deleted the character I did it on, but you don't think about things like that or the fact they would stop making them. So she was probably deleted for some troll name character, sadly. 70 sounds like nothing now but it took more than a day back then.(I regret not trying to get more; I had the time and the desire then, but its not like you think about playing a game 6 years later and needing/wanting more than one and expecting them to stop making them. For all we knew they were going to do those kinds of races forever.)

Me and my buddy no-lifed the shit out of it to get one. He got one for Marauder, I got one for Witch. Like not sleeping no-life. But I had time for that at that point in my life. Was it skillful? Probably as skillful as amassing a bunch of exalt by no life farming. I couldn't play like that now if I tried. I have too much going on IRL, and I'm just not that invested in the game, tbh. I play off and on every other league for a month or 2 and quit till the next. Its not a knock on the game. I love PoE. I might argue about stuff I dont like and stuff they do that I dont like, but I'm still here after all these years giving them money for stash pages and playing their game. Just because I dont like their trading system means I hate the game. Its hard to stay that enthralled for that many years. I love WoW, too, but I cant play more than 3 months after each expansion before I just quit. Same with PoE.

Just this guy trash-talking me like I'm crap at the game when I've put my time in. I've been here since the beginning. Just because I would like to see a more fair system for your average player to not get shit on does not mean I:suck at the game/hate the game. All I want is PoE.Trade built into the game and for people to not be able to list items they don't plan to sell(price-fixing/scamming/whatever), people to not be able to whoop items like D3 Ah bots, and to not have to use a 3rd party site which already puts noobs at a disadvantage to be scammed to death and have sand kicked in their face to learn the ropes. I fail to see how thats a bad thing. And I've also been around long enough and known enough people to know how things work, so I get slightly annoyed when people just throw complete bullshit out like not using whoops and getting all their currency from just hard work farming maps. I know better. I especially know better just by people defending the current system. Someone making all their currency farming would not be bothered by any system. Someone making their money by flipping, would. A built-in system, a instant buyout, any system someone actually farming their wealth is not going to be affected. People flipping items with PoE.Trade would, and those are the people who are going to argue with you about the trading system.

I figured you had earned it, Dave. And for what it's worth, I have always been of the belief that GGG should include all of the parts of the game that they want to BE parts of their game WITHIN the game itself.

It'll never happen now, because it cannot. Too much of the success of PoE relies upon outside forces. Even botting and the rest of it, sadly.

I agree. And I'll say that I appreciate PoE.Trade. What they did for the community, when they needed something. But, its become far too problematic for the game now. People are abusing it too much and taking advantage of too many players. PoE.Trade should have never needed to exist. And it should have been replaced by now by GGG. I know it mainly came into existence because GGG had a vision. I respect that. But as with a lot of visions, that took a back seat to other things, and we have what we have now. A 3rd party site with massive problems that basically controls the game and its economy.

But its about time for GGG to step in and fix it. Hell, hire the dude that runs PoE.Trade. Valve has did this for decades to massive success.

And, its really a lot like D2. D2 thrived on dupes. It's probably not a popular opinion, but its true. You have to ask yourself how much fun people would have had if duped runes didn't exist. What 1 or 2 Zods per server? Everyone and their momma had BotDs and Enigmas. Without all the botting, getting stormshields and Windforces would be out of the question. Like you said. Sadly, that game, and even this one, relies on outside forces they probably never wanted. But they exist. Even if it can't be remedied, I can still bitch about it, though.

You know you are really shitting on my troll persona I like to keep around here the few times I actually post. I had that post lined up; signed, sealed, delivered for Miska, and here I am having a conversation with you ruining it, hah. I don't even have a problem with Miska. He reminds me of my friend. My friend plays this game solely for the economy. Hell, even when we quit this league while we are grinding Warframe, he has 15 pages of PoE.Trade open whooping poor people out of their items and trading even though we aren't even playing the game anymore. Thats just what he likes. I dont agree with it, but hes my best friend and thats what he likes. He does it for a living on Amazon which is about as comical as it gets. He moved up from flipping and scamming on D2, to D3, to PoE, to actually doing it for a living on Amazon.
