Well, you do know what OP stands for? If something is over powered, it should be nerfed. That's sort of the meaning of the word "over". But anyhow, you ARE capable of changing this be doing some research - and looking ahead for possible nerfs. Like Dark Pact, maybe, that skill smells "nerf" a long way.

Listen, I'm not defending nerfing anything, but if nerfs are keeping you from playing, you should maybe try picking other builds. Because regular nerfs and META changes will not change. Ever.

I've instead chosen to play games where this isn't a factor. Honestly, 4 leagues of PoE have given me a newfound appreciation for games that don't change, or change very little. I prefer games that are completely static over PoE's constant meta shuffling.

In early D3, there was a Wizard skill that made it so Wizard couldn't be OHKO'd by any attack, and I used that gimmick to press into content that would have otherwise been impossible.

I like the actual gameplay of PoE, the build/skill diversity, etc. It's everything else about the game that I don't like. If GGG ever released a single player offline version, I'd be a buyer for $40. But I wouldn't play the online version in its current state, for free.

PoE isn't gonna last forever, at some point the game is going to slow down, considerably. I might decide to come back for its last 1-2 leagues.

Look, I'll be the first to admit, when I first get into *ANY* ARPG, I ask what are the best builds, and which of the best builds are the easiest to gear for. Which underscores the fact that my fun in ARPGs is mindlessly facerolling packs of enemies with flashy moves, and stuff. If I get killed, that's not because I made a mistake, it's because my gear/build wasn't strong enough, and that's the que to go back and grind some easier content until that doesn't happen. And most PoE players are the same as me, in that regard. Whether they admit it or not. I'm not too proud to admit that's where my fun is at in games.
