I am a scammer - Account locked?
Support is always busy, especially right after the start of a new league and even more so after GGG releasing a major expansion because of the way higher number of players having all sorts of problems. Full account investigations have always taken some time (5-7 days) and there will always be a queue.
So, as much as it may suck: You have to wait your ticket's turn and for GGG's reply by email. Exit, pursued by a Plummeting Ursa.

" I can see how you feel that way.I didn't go to Reddit to post about my exploits I went because i was called out by someone.Re reading the reddit post is a little cringe worthy i can see how it comes off I was bragging.4am 8 or so ex richer, the endorphin's were kicking in - sorry :) .I wasn't instructing people how to scam i was letting people know how i personally did it.If they wanted to use this information for themselves they could. It wasn't a HOW TO SCAM 101 post.If i was an evil mastermind fulltime scammer who uses profits to RMT i would hardly want my methods public. Who knows - If support were clear with me instead of brick walling any and all of my questions we wouldn't be having this discussion.I'm just looking for communication and transparency. As stated i'm a big boy - I can take my punishment/karma but its the not knowing anything that's killing me :) " Hey man thanks for the information.Support have not shared this with me at all.I have no idea I am under a full investigation (can only assume) as the only mail I have had is very unclear as to what is happening. If GGG had mailed me "Your account is under full investiagation and will take 5-7days" I would have totally been fine with this. I think this lack of comms has lead to frustrations i'm having. How do you know the length of a full account investigation may i ask? Last edited by Accountlocked#1052 on Mar 19, 2016, 5:44:42 AM

" No sorry, what I know is from old posts made by scammed players, and I wouldn't know how to find them without spending a lot of time on it. Your quotes are quite clear, but then again, your account did get locked. Thing is, I've seen several posts by GGG where they asked a scammed player for details of the scam, as in when, who, how, etc. They never promised anything but to look into it, and they more suggested than said outright that if the scamming is too prolonged and severe that it will have consequences for the scammer. |

You might be shit out of luck. A while back I made an extremely obvious, sarcastic remark about scamming being allowed and it got more or less instantly removed. My post basically stated "scamming is allowed", just with other words used... Not sure how far I can explain it, since it was super generic and I'm actually baffled that my comment got removed but not everyone else's comments that state "scamming is allowed".
I replied with something random to the mod who edited my post, and to my amazement I actually got a reply. It more or less stated "we don't to encourage scamming". I decided to take a shot at support at this point... I replied, stating that flask macros are also prohibited by GGG, yet they have allowed builds that present them in vids get BotW statuses and asked why there's a difference in treatment between 'cheating'? Didn't get a reply. Didn't expect one anyway. You're not dealing with logical or egalitarian system on GGG's end. They've presented glaring double- or triple morals several times when it comes to ""CHEATING"". The only thing that I've found common is that if you really piss off GGG and end up on their bad side, you're just done for, regardless of whatever "rules" are in place. You just may have woken the sleeping lion, and you know what they say about doing that. [s]only mindless sheep think labyrinth is OK to have in PoE.[/s]
okay nevermind labyrinth, fix dx9 blackscreen instead... |

In that case its far to wide of a grey area for everyone involved.
Either were playing a cuthroat game where scamming is allowed a la EvE online or were not. If i had the information before hand I would have made an educated decision as to weather 8ex and a bunch of lols was worth risking my 3.5k hour account. We truly need clarification on these rules for all parties involved. |

at least you had fun right? didn't you say it's just a game?
Pulling 8ex out of thin air in a few hours while getting the privileged to tell people to learn how to play PoE "properly" and gets to laugh at all them scammed suckers IMO it's worth every penny. Chances are when you reveal and teach how to scam on poe subreddit probably invoked GGG wrath. Technically scamming people is "exploiting the game", while that's usually OK by GGG, publishing the walk through of how to replicate the exploits is indeed bannable even in a blizzard game. The real hardcore PoE players and the elites sit in town and zoning in and out of their hideouts trading items. Noobs that don't know how to play PoE correctly, kill monsters for items. It's pure fact, it will never change.
Welcome to PoE. |

It was super fun to be fair. :)
Again it wasn't my intention to teach people a method to scam.Making a method public would kind of kill that angle. " Sorry but what? You can't scam in bliz games fullstop mate. Also i hardly think i published anything. The OP of the reddit post shows IMGUR picutres of the setup and also it had been discussed how it was done hours before i even saw the thread. I didn't tell anyone to go play the game properly - or call anyone suckers.I simply claimed the scam was me and defended myself from all the moral white knighting. " Not yet bud we will find out soon though i hope either way :) Last edited by Accountlocked#1052 on Mar 19, 2016, 6:23:42 AM

I think it would be hilarious if one of the people you scammed somehow hacked your account and deleted your characters and the different IP flagged your account for a lock. That would be hilarious indeed.

I have nothing to contribute to your account lock problem.
However, a few thoughts about scamming. I've rarely been scammed on online game, as I always avoid trading as much as possible. But the feeling after been scammed is shitty, it's like been pawned on your face by scammer's ass. Especially if you seen how the scammer tried to explain how he did not scam or simple ignore you. I believe this we all agree to. What I don't understand is after been scammed, you decide to return that feeling to other innocent people, as well as enjoy the benefit of scamming and justify yourself because the GGG rule did not state it. No Law is perfect that can cover every corner, especially with none-coding related scaming. Off course if the producer has the manpower they would limit it from happening, and if the scamming became such a big issue it affects their player base they will be forced to treat it seriously. Now it's probably not at that stage, but not stating in the rule book doesn't mean it's not a general gaming rule. You probably got too much report that grabed their attention (and you probably not have as much mule accounts as a professional scammer). Why bother scamming in POE, having the finest item without any hard work essentially devalued those items and killed your fun. People always complain about RNG, not realising RNG is where you get the fun and excitment. |
