I am a scammer - Account locked?

What i'm more interested is anyone who has experience in getting account locked (not IP locks) getting there account back and what was involved in the process.Did you feel communication channels were open enough etc? Has there ever been history of bans for scamming. Lightwood being the biggest example i could find of a prolific scammer - not once did any history of him mention him getting locked out.

I know right. Known scammers have been allowed to make new accounts so they can lose their bad reputation, and have GGG transfer their MTX onto the new account.

I'm not a fan of GGG stepping in when like, players invade other players' hideouts and steal their map portals, or when people get PK'd at bandits, or when people get scammed, etc. We know Wraeclast is a tough place.

It just creates grey areas anyway.

Note there is also a line in the ToU that states GGG reserve the right to terminate any account without needing to give any reason whatsoever. I assume they rarely tap that, but there it is.

And I think some folks would do well to remember the difference between a rip-off and a scam. A rip-off in context is merely overcharging, perhaps taking advantage of buyer ignorance. Totally allowed. A scam is deliberately circumventing the systems in place to take advantage of another player. Most also involve victim ignorance or gullibility, but they are still something GGG will act against if there's proof, since it's basically a form of cheating.

Interesting post OP, I think Charan said it best.
I guess time will tell for me chaps. :)
As far as I know, there are four states that your account could be in, other than the normal state:

Locked: Used if you log-in from another site to protect your account from hackers.
On Probation: Doesn't keep you out of the game, but keeps you from posting in the game forums (but not the trade forums).
Banned: Used to remove someone who has been shown to be cheating.
Muted: Unable to chat in game... usually used for harassment.

I've never heard of a lock used for scamming. Muting is their usual response.
You became the thing that you hate. And now those that might have been your allies are your adversaries. What have we learned?

Had to google this in case it was an obscure quote - Am I not getting something here?

Although pissed at the guy who originally scammed me I also saw that it was a pretty clever setup. After learning it was a legit thing to do I had even more respect for the ruse.It was devious, clever and profitable whats not to like?

I guess I have learnt that i'm not actually blocked yet, my toons aren't deleted (just set to private) my account is on lock for some reason that hasn't after 2 days been confirmed by GGG and people are quite passionate about the subject of morals in a video game.

My OP was really after clarification on as to why I was account locked with full admittance of my antics. Thanks to the adults in the room I now have hope this situation will be clarified one way or another, rather than just being brick walled by support not answering emails. Its only 2 days total so perhaps my panic about toons being missing from my profile (which doesn't look like it's the case) has made me a little impatient for answers.

If it comes down to it and i've said it many times and I broke ToS ill cop punishement fair and square.

I'm sure many of you are rooting that GGG bans me - i'm ok with that.I just want to know why the lock :)

I expect a lot of hate gents - go easy its just a video game

Most people dont understand that. However i understand the hate, it ruins the game for others, also i understand why some people do scam others. But if there is not anything in the rules saying it is against the rules then you should not be banned simple as that. rules are rules and even the devs need to follow their own rules. Now you pressed the issue to GGG so its up to them to tell you.

I think a rule against scamming should be in the terms, it does nothing but ruin the game for others. However this community seems to be honourable one, as late as yesterday i sold a skillgem for 61 chaos, however some min later i saw he only gave me 51 chaos, i was not sure i was right and sent him a whisper asking if i only got 51 or did i count wrong? he looked into it and left his party came in my ho and traded me the last 10 chaos. Now that was a man of honour, he could just as well ignore me or tell me he paid the full price, but he didn't and that restored my faith in the community :)
Set sail for epic fail

It's not about morals, it's about you making other people have wasted their time and effort, and making them feel a fool. It's insult and injury in one package. Don`t make it sound as if morals exist for its own good. Added to that you risk that the people you scammed badmouth PoE because GGG did nothing about it. Which spells money.
All of this for a few ex and and a few hours of amusement.
