Back from Diablo III, the truth in one TLDR post
The funniest thing about this post was that most of these problems remind me of poE as well.
-Pathing is not precise (Sounds familiar, desync anyone?) -Screen Clutter - Yep with certain skill setups and with loot. -Camping corners - Well range is clearly the best and skills like ice spear definitely don't help. -Builds - Honestly the point about min/maxed builds is true here as well. Flamestrike/searing bond anyone? -Crafting - Dunno how easy D3's is in comparison so I can't really say, but for the most part getting geared is not that tricky when you consider master crafting. -Rifts - S.S.D.D as maps. -Killing mobs - Again, when it comes to racing that's pretty much the same. Kill large mob packs, skip any rares that take too long. So yes, until the expansion most of the points apply to PoE as well sadly. No this post is not meant to insult PoE or promote D3 in anyway. I've played PoE for years and didn't even hit max level in D3 till I got bored, I just found it curious that most of your points apply here as well. IGN: Adrastos (Betrayal)

I was curious about the topic, A friend of mine was asking if I wanted to
join d3 recently, said it had been overhauled a lot and was no longer pay to win... the thought actually crossed my mind... The Op's warnings regarding how lame loot system is, how narrow equipment range is and how shallow the gameplay flipped my opinion. I could prolly buy d3 right now with the expansion for 30-40$ but why? time is an issue. Spend time on d3 or poe once released? I'll wait on poe. I'm gonna spend too much time on poe once released, and it will not be enough time to satisfy me. how is that for product endorsement? you came to waste time... but you will not have enough! decent comparison by op, certainly not TL, and I did read. |

" True PoE has some of those issues, but they are far more noticable in D3. PoEs crafting and build diversity is waaaaaaay better then D3s. I also prefere PoEs maps over D3s rifts. Besides that PoE just got more content. Especially now with the Awakening arriving. |

" It is almost as if you take it personal. If the moderates were to close every thread that was based upon subjective opinion, or someone's feelings being hurt then they may as well just close the forum because there would be pretty much no threads left. This looks like all the other D3 hate/POE lovefest threads but I read the OP with undertones of hate for POE; not D3. Take a closer look for yourself. Either way, there is nothing in here to warrant locking...at least no more than any other thread. Thanks for all the fish!

" WELCOME TO A FORUM! I HOPE YOU REALIZE ONE DAY THAT FORUMS ARE ALWAYS JUST ABOUT OPPINIONS. We are NOT here to bring scientific studdies. People will always compare these games, just like people will always compare Lol to dota, Battlefield to Call of Duty etc... No its not like comparing apples to bananas, that would be if we compared PoE with Quake. Diablo 3 still shares alot more in common and both are influenced by the same parents (Diablo 2). THere is no denying that there are many old Diablo 2 fans here that got dissapointed with D3. Ofc it will be brought up since many thought Diablo 3 would live up to their expectations. Even if people don't bring scientific studdies as to why they dislike this and that. It doesn't mean their oppinion necassarily have to be bad. Ofc there is gonna be alot of BS and each side will talk crap about the other. Still certain flaws will be brought up by many and are hard to look past. Does Diablo 3 have limited build diversity, I would say yes. Does the game lack content and limited patched updates? I would say yes. Does the game feel dumbed down and aimed at a more casual playerbase. I would say yes to that aswell. Did Blizzard slap their fans in the face when they both charged full price for a game with limited content yet still had the guts to Introduce the horrible Real money auction house. Yes, yes and Yes again! Yeah sure its my personal oppinion. Maybe thats not something you agree is a real problem. But thats your personal oppinion. Thats what pretty much all forum topics are. Its just up to the person to decide what they agree/disagree on. If you don't like threads like this, just ignore it. Your asking for thread lock based on your personal oppinion because you don't like others personal oppinions. Makes sense... Last edited by WickedSausage#2727 on May 15, 2015, 7:46:36 PM

" The problem is, that POE is a grown up game with its own merits. Its own style, its own place in the gaming-world. This threads make it look like the little hissing brother of the Thor. You act like the critics of D3 here act reasonably. That their comparisons add something to a discussion that may be necessairy (which it isn't). They don't. It is simple fire-making. It is trolling. It is - very often - full of offensive language against D3-Players, Blizzard-Customers and Fans who still want to play D3 AND POE. 99% of the comparisons here are full of unreasonable arguments. Full of hate, antagonising and fueling fire with oil. I play and grind both games. And i am sick to read postings all over this forum where i am entitled as a sheep, anm idiot or a fanboy just for loving a different game than POE also. Especially because this offenses always come from lvl70 POEers that are to shy to show their battle.net-account also and claim that they think the game is too easy. POE does not need that. It makes this community look like a bunch of hooligans. As a wise man once said: "Those proud of their culture will never fear others to destroy their culture. They will look forward to new cultures to add to their own" (translation from a different language, sorry). So: What is the reason of bashing D3 and D3-fans here? Just name me one that helps POE. So: Yeah. Lock this thread. It is redundant at least. And it does nothing to the game. It just shows that the POE-community seems to still not be proud of their own culture, so that they have to offend others ;) edit: It is quite funny that you only asked the questions that act against D3 ;) There are so many more to ask to determine a good game. But you don't ask them. And that's the problem. It is biased. All the way. edit2: D3 has 4 acts, rifts, grifts, adventure mode, uber-bosses, crafting, gambling. POE has 4 acts (then), maps, masters, atziri, crafting. Where is this more content? Did i miss something? The Sirus fight is a disgrace. Last edited by ghamadvar#7236 on May 16, 2015, 6:19:59 AM

What really bugs people about D3 for the die hard D2 fans, like I was, is that this game hit's all the right spots that we where expecting D3 to have.
Witch game is better, like many of the intelligent people have said it's just a matter of opinion. For me POE is far superior to D3, but that's just me! lol As to these type of post's(not a fan of them BUT), this is a public forum and everyone is entitled to there own opinions so get over it. I keep hearing about "The Real World" is that an expansion or something ??
