Back from Diablo III, the truth in one TLDR post

The PoE map system is not unique.

  Ok, so D3 it targeted to more casual arpg players than those that are more hardcore and want a long term better build variety arpg. It really doesn't mean that one is better than the other (everyones personal viewpoint varies). I've played D3 and D3:RoS. I've also played TL1 and TL2 with mods such as SynergiesMOD. Before that I've played TQ, TQIT, and TQIT:The Will of Jalavia mod. Going back farther I played Dungeon Siege II, D2 and D2 with Ancestral Recall mod. And of course there is D1 and the Baldur's Gate and Ultima series and... I could go on and on.

 My point is that each and every one of them has its strengths and weaknesses. So today you like PoE over D3:RoS. That's nice. It doesn't mean that D3:RoS is a piece of crap. Millions have played it. Millions have played PoE. Millions have left D3:RoS. Millions have left PoE. The world goes round and round and we like what we like and play what we like and evolve. Who knows, next year I may be playing the other PoE or Grim Dawn or something else.

 Welcome back to PoE. Hang around long enough for PoE 2.0 before deciding if PoE is your arpg cup of tea or not. PoE 1.3.x still has massive sucky desync and other QoL problems.

This war will never end because the fact is PoE had to earn everything while D3, which had every advantage and reason to be unmatched, not only pulled a massive bait-n-switch, but has some rather astounding design flaws for a game made by a company that use to have such high praise most believed they could do no wrong.

it is what it is. enjoy either or both who really gives a crap.

i play both, enjoy both and come back to both for patches and new stuff.

and @OP: its not the "truth". its your own VERY objective opinion on a status quo. not more or less.

Never bought D3.

Each time I think about trying D3 I go and watch some gameplay videos of the game...

Then I make the decision to buy another POE supporter pack instead of wasting the money on a game that I know that I will play for a few hours and then never touch again.

It just feels so much better to support GGG!

Completly agree, I think there are many old school Diablo fans here that are dissapointed in D3.
I had big hopes for D3 and got very dissapointed with it. I used to love Blizzard but now i really don't have much hope for the Diablo franschise.
The RMAH douchbag move and the bad support for the game sure doesn't help either.

Im just so greatful that GGG exist, sure things aren't perfect. But with their limited budget they have achieved far greater things. Most important of all you can tell they care about the game.

Only thing I like better is infinite difficulty rifts. Largely non gated. Basically you go until you hit a brick wall and everyone will hit it eventually.

Here difficulty stops at uber. See my shop for all this shit I got off her. And you need to farm literally 1600 corrupted area to get one chance at her.

1/40 chance of hardest to find sac midnight drop from corrupted area
1/40 chance reg atziri will drop rarest hope

40 x 40 = 1600

I disagree, you let other do the farming, you level your toon doing your normal/map stuff and trade for atziri fragment.

Nah, Fade. It will only stop if there is ONE game left for every sort of games. ONE fps, ONE Rpg, ONE Arpg. Because that is what makes the world better. Only ONE choice.
Want an example? Madden. Just ONE official football game out there. And it is awesome. Because there is no competition for EA anymore, they simply make the best game.

Please just lock these types of posts, mods. This is a perfect example of a thread you guys are working towards not wanting on your forums any more. We've seen this thread a million times already and there is no need for any new thread (the OP should have used search feature and bumped one of the already existing thousands of threads about this topic, for example).

The only thing this type of thread serves is to endorse an argument in which neither side will ever win because this is a subject is just personal opinion with no true basis of scientific discussion: you cannot prove anything one way or another making this just a baseless "slag the other game" with completely non scientifically founded empty words.

I don't know what you expect. This is a forum and all posts are usually from players personal oppinions. None is telling you what to think.
If you don't like these threads just don't read them.

Ofc there are bias oppinions and sometimes bad/no arguments. Still saying there are no valid aguments at all is a bit off.
Diablo 3 was a dissapointment to many, since Diablo 1 & 2 has shaped this genre the most. I don't think its that odd D3 gets alot of hate.
