Probably, given the development pattern.
Well it's a fact, look at their characters, they don't have the time to play poe anyway so.

I would correct your sentence:
"However, that game with improved loot is obviously not the game GGG's first and biggest supporters were promised, which is the very first thing we have to take into consideration."

Fucking crybabys, the game was easy enough before and now with ambush its even easier.

This just proves no matter how much you increase drops theres gonna be people who always see the grass being greener somewhere else and come to bitch 24/7 on the forums.

State the relation between drop rates and difficulty. Hours played has nothing to do with it.

btw its their game since years now (dev started in 2006) , i could understand if no one of their staff is motivated for playing it -again- and for a long time per day to have a deeper view of the whole stuff.
invaders balance/lack of testing failure was maybe the worst thing in the history of poe imo

dont you think temporary league(or the game itself) is a lab with lots of free white mouses?

Well, it's not how Chris wants to play anyway. But, that's part of the problem. You don't develop and market products for yourself. You do it for customers. To bring in money. Somehow people on the forum started believing that dismissing all feedback that doesn't fit into a pre-conceived idea of how the game should be is "principled" rather than ignorant.

They actually know it's a problem. Hence the constant increasing amounts of gear attainable. Be it from boss drops, exiles, boxes, and recipes.

One can either create something in order to have customers, or have customers in order to create something. Of these two, the latter is more noble: the focus there is on creating something extraordinary, not on the ephemeral feelings of the masses. This is what it means to "sell out," or not.

Of those who sell out, there are two flavors: those who desire others for their attention, and those who desire others for their money. Of these two, the latter is more noble: at least money can be used to support others whose primary motive is creating something extraordinary. It is better to try to break sales numbers than to win a popularity contest.

I am not so naive as to not understand the motives for selling out. But I will never fathom the motive for winning popularity contests. If GGG does decide to go by some vision other than their own, I would hope it would be a vision popular among those with supporter tags. To betray their vision for those who won't even contribute financially would be an unbearable ethical lapse on their part.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

GGG should just completely sell out, it's what the vocal minority wants
Multi-Demi Winner
Very Good Kisser
Alt-Art Alpha’s Howl Winner
Former Dominus Multiboxer

Not moreso than your belief that a supporter tag is more than just one of many products GGG has for sale.

I have a totally different "memory" of D2. I also only played self found, and I did beat the game with Barb and Sorc, dragging myself up to level 89, I think. No duping, no online play - nothing.

This was my experience. I completed Hell difficulty on each class multiple times, and never hit a gear wall. I've completed Titan Quest on Legendary with well over 20 characters, including defeating all Legendary Bosses, and never hit a gear wall. Nearly all of these were solo, and when I played multiplayer it was LAN with people I knew.

In PoE, every character I have made hits a gear wall at the end of Cruel. It seems that I can find the gear, but never get the sockets, or I can find the sockets, but the gear rolls are horrible. I've spent stacks of Orbs on rerolls, when throwing them on the ground would have been more productive. Let's not even start on the topic of finding build-enabling uniques, something I gave up months ago.

Uh, what builds are you playing? I occasionally hit gear walls on some characters, but on the more gear-independent classes, I don't have too much trouble getting to maps. Are you playing builds that work with a 4L?
