"If PoE increased droprates, people would instantly leave the game"
" This ^^ Hear hear! A simple solution would be to raise implicit values and correspondingly lower the rows. That way great gear will still be great whilst players who aren't getting gear can progress. The problem isn't a matter of getting upgrades, the problem is whether one's current gear can allow one to progress, even if slowly. The problem as I see it isn't drop rates. I'm getting a decent amount of rares, in fact, I consider getting more than one full inventory worth of rares in a single map to be too much lol. The problem is that 99.99% of those rares are outright junk. Keep in mind that I'm not asking for 90+ life tri-res stuff. Anything with 70+ life dual-res I keep and even those are few and far between. At end game, for any piece of gear, if it doesn't have at least 60+ life, dual-res with 40+ total, it's junk. There are rolls like block/stun recovery, increased stun duration, thorns, life regen that aren't even looked at. Take block/stun recovery for instance. We all know that ES users have the issue of getting stunned quite often, yet the most common soln I see in forums / reddit is Eye of Chayula or US. How many times do you see builds even mentioning block/stun recovery mods on items? I've tried CI builds with around 4k ES and using cloth belts and round shields for the block/stun recovery implicit and it isn't really that viable. Another mod that could use some work, thorns. What good is 25-50 damage returned to MELEE attackers? Even if you get thorns mods on all 5 possible pieces that's 125 - 250 damage return. What good is that considering the fact that monsters attack relatively slowly most of the time and I believe a majority of monsters fall into the ranged / spellcaster category? Don't even get me started on reduced attribute requirements. Whenever I see that mod in an item with 30+ dual res, 80+ life, a little part of me cries. " Because I've been playing it for 10 years? I mean Zelda Ocarina of time and Mario 64 were both damn near perfect, and I still occasionally play, but not all the time. Same with Diablo 2. Vote +1 to change Path of Exile to Path of Nerfs.
We hate to say, but ProjectPT was right. |

" Look at what I've bolded there and then think about your grasp of elementary logic. I apparently want a solo-player game that I am somehow also playing with my friends. Maybe you need to calm down a bit and think about what you're writing before spewing forth The rest of your arguments are equally well thought out. What "philosophy of the game"? Is it supposed to be "hardcore"? Maybe if it actually WAS hardcore, it would be relevant - maybe they should update that to "logout-core" so it wouldn't sound so ridiculous. "Come to POE, where your skill at hitting Alt-F4 and stacking health will separate you from the noobs! Also, trade for items using cobbled-together 3rd party websites: our in-game trade system is pure, refreshing, and vintage 2002! Logout-Core - it's the New Hardcore(tm)!" This is 2014, games are allowed to change and evolve over time. Try to understand - I enjoy the game as it is, but see where it could be improved. That doesn't make me a dangerous radical. One of those areas, that could definitely be improved, is the trading system - relying on trading to get items is a bad idea if your trading system is embarrassingly basic. Where are the NPC player vendors? Central market? Mailboxes where I can trade with someone who isn't online by sending and receiving goods? Online auction house? Filter actions for trade chat so I can set an alert when someone is hawking an item I am looking for? I've seen guys selling stereos out of the back of anonymous vans who are more organized in their trading than this; the reason I don't want to trade is because it is far more of a hassle than it needs to be. This isn't laziness, it's good sense - you're the one crippling your gameplay experience by choosing to spend valuable mob-killing time looking for an item you MUST HAVE for some esoteric build. Ambush leagues and its extra loot made players happy.
More loot => Less players leaving the game Good vaal orbs : http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/840813

Get rid of eternal orbs DO NOT MAKE LEGACY but convert to exalted orbs like 4:1 even on the imprints

" ^^^this^^^ things change, so if and when the strong boxes are actually retained and carried over into the regular leagues, only then can we safely assume that the devs saw a positive effect of it on the over-all health of the game. who knows, but the devs of course, it may even trigger further modifications in the subsequent leagues... " I'm sure that GGG has realized that, if simpletons like you, me and others have. However, that game with improved loot is obviously not the game GGG themselves want to play, which is the very first thing we have to take into consideration. |

" The only game GGG plays is the game between level 1 and 60ish. Good vaal orbs : http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/840813
