Why do some players lose their passion for PoE ?

Some people lose their passion in all games; no one is alike.

I've found in Path it's really easy to want to do all the content NOW. And doing that in of itself can burn you out really quickly.

I think it badly needs a fourth act, imo. And more acts with LOTS of monsters. I think it's lame when only ONE map per act (not exactly, but usually) is best for farming xp. They should all (or at least most) be viable imo for the best player experience (and that means more variety, guys at ggg :P)

Krip needs viewers to survive and POE isn't providing them at the rate it once was.it was time to move on for whatever amount of time he needs to recoup from the mounting discontent of his fans.

Interesting to note that on Twitch POE now vies for position with DarkSouls once more,a much older and to some degree (arguably) less in depth.

I've been playing PoE for a couple of months now, so here's how it looks from a newbie perspective:

- making a decent build seems very challenging at first glance, new players feel like they'll never be able to make their own build, so after trying out a couple of build guides they get bored and drop;

- some of those who got through that stage and stuck with PoE start realizing that making an own build is very schematic with most of your passives being invested in life nodes. Also, the fact the many useful nodes are way off your class' path doesn't help here either, so you're forced to use some of the standard nodes like blood magic for instance. Many players believe they can't really get creative with their build, so they drop;

- the available content gets boring really quickly. There are only three acts with higher difficulties adding nothing new but more powerful mobs. From end of act 1 cruel most people don't really enjoy Wraeclast and start rushing to simply level up and get access to maps. You're not rewared for making it out of normal and cruel, there are no new quests, locations, npcs, mobs, gear, nothing. It's the same stuff all over again, just more powerful and sometimes named differently;

- once you got through cruel and merciless and started mapping you'd like to upgrade your gear. And that's where PoE fails remarkably. From act 3 normal and onwards you never drop anything useful for your current character, so you have to trade. And trading is kind of fun till act 3 merciless. You can still get some nice 5 linked gear without farming 10 hours a day. But then you want some endgame gear, you want your 6 link chest for instance. And you won't get it. You need tonloads of exalts to either buy it or roll it. And you'll never get ahold of that kind of currency if you don't farm 10 hours a day. For example, I've been playing this game for a couple of months now. And despite being very provident with my currency my whole "wealth" can be calculated to 3ex top. So, how the heck am I supposed to enjoy the endgame gear if I'll never ever get the currency to roll/buy it?

And there are also all other things, like the trading mob (wts/wtb spam even in the darkest corners of Wraeclast), desync and such.

I might add, that GGG haven't actually added anything interesting in 6months.

Useless shit uniques for lvl 5 characters + ugly looking microtransactions in each patch doesn't make you wanna keep playing. I think they could use their time better...

How ever I still play this game. maybe like 1/8 of what I used to play.

Can you tell me WTF you do with 1000 low-mid level uniqs that you use for 2 days? Is this + microtransactions the best way for GGG to use their time when they have such a MAJOR issues with the game atm?

But I think its best to leave this conversation to this since desinging "nice" uniqs is the priority atm. (meaning it's fun to make the uniq item itself even tho it has nothing to do with making the game better).

Been playing over a year, at least weekly (I take a bit of time off here and there to play new games), usually daily, for several hours per session. Still going strong, still have crap loads I want to do/try.

I also prefer nicely designed low/mid level unique items - mainly because I spend most of my play time in low/mid levels (I roll a lot of alts that usually cap out at level 60-70).

Speaking of which, I really want those new level 6 boots; they seem better than Wanderlusts for twinking.
