Why do some players lose their passion for PoE ?

This is the problem with pvp in ARPGs, there will always be a few really OP builds that will wreck anything and everything.

The days of pvp "on the side" are over. We have evolved. We have MOBA's and games that specialize purely on pvp, where players compete in pvp with a huge skill ceiling. Pvp in D2 and WoW were cool for the time, but they were never what these types of games were built around. Pvp here would be more of the same, 99.9 % ultimate bragging rights for the guy who RMT'd the most shit and .01% skill. I am here to kill monsters for the assiest fucking loot in gaming history, and I play skill based battle arena games when I'm in the mood for that.

POE has strengths and weaknesses for sure, desynch etc etc, but what really makes me hate POE at times is the horribly primitive trading, spammed channels, etc.

What makes me hate POE at times is that you need to trade to progress. There is no real crafting (its gambling), which is not viable for the average player. Nor do you find any decent upgrades in a reasonable amount of time. I would enjoy the game way more if you could actually craft stuff, have a more steady feel of progress. Not 5000 alterations wasted and still not have what you want as a base blue-item for "crafting" or 1200 fusings and no 6-link. In those cases you wasted hours of farming for no return (in the form of character progress) at all.

I think this is killing the game for many people, I know that it has killed it for me and many of my friends. The problem is that people tend to experience negative events stronger than positive ones, and as you are more like to waste a shit and get no return than getting what you strife for. So, people stop playing.

This game is dying because for some reason GGG didnt learn from D3's mistakes, this is D3 with out the convenience of AH. The exact same problems right doen to nerfing the big gold chests. I laugh everytime to come back to these forums and see that the anger in the community is growing with the exact same issues I brought up 6 months ago.

Like I have said they are digging there own grave. They dont seem to listen or care and the anger grows, people come here and complain hoping it will get fixed, eventually they will quit like I did, I will happen one day you wont be able to stand logging in, because you know its pointless.
haha so much crying about anything... if you DO NOT LIKE THE GAME or feel boring just STOP! there will be enough player here which are happy... there will be a better community feeling without so many crying "unlucky" guys...

Good point. I enjoyed PoE in the normal mode. Once I moved to the cruel mode, things changed. 99.9999% of drops were junk. As an average gamer, I managed to collect only 4 chaos orbs from my two characters. It was impossible to get a decent piece of gear. More importantly, PoE didn't reward me for slaying monsters. I quit. So did my friends who are casual gamers.

Since GGG relies on players' donations, I'm not sure what GGG is trying to accomplish. When someone quits playing PoE, he won't donate. Blizzard had already made about $300M or so, when people started to complain about D3's game mechanics and the AH. GGG cannot afford to keep losing players.

How do you know any better? All of your characters are in standard with the dump economy.

I'm guessing that your only experience in the real world is at a McDonald's drive-thru. "Fuck the majority of paying customers! If they don't like a product then let the majority leave!". This is the single dumbest mentality, and the reason why so many potentially great games are dust in the fucking wind. The "better community" you're speaking of is about 300% lighter than it was 2 months ago. Maybe you'll be happy when it's just you and the other half dozen forum white knights chanting "O'Doyle rules!" as the car goes off a cliff.
