THERE IS NO REASON WHY POE shouldn't have a CASUAL league
Grim Dawn and Torchlight look like great games but their going to be full of cheats. I much prefer the persistent environment that everyone plays in like PoE.

" PoE is full of cheats too, just less egregious ones. The only way to avoid that is to play exclusively with friends, and you don't need official servers for that.
Draft out of sync.
There is a gigantic difference between encouraging mods/cheats and people doing smaller ones at the risk of getting banned.
I prefer the format of PoE. Standard Forever

the carrot in front of your nose aka the current motivation to play the game is to reach certain goals like 6 link items, getting certain uniques...
a goal is gone when it's reached and so is the motivation to play. mostly. consider most people only play one char to high levels to imagine the duration of the average playtime a gamer will need before he continues to other games. and, poe has a reputation for being difficult, you lose that when you introduce casual playstyles. when creating an online game you need to state certain fundamental principles. ggg did and one has been: "poe is supposed to be a game for the hardcore crowd". i think it found it's niche in the game business. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

No thx i hate the new generation of players "give free easy loot so i can feel op and bored after 2 weeks of the game and spam the forum" please go away and play your consoles PoE is meant to be a bit more harcore.
Just my 2 cents from a Standard league player.. |

" Good luck getting this crowd to believe that. These guys want "diversity" at the cost of the developers vision. Sad thing is, enough of these topics of the same people crying over this stuff and they will eventually get it. Just like what happened with drops. I'm not hardcore by any means, but I came to this game after years of searching for something that will let me build whatever I want, and let me craft. With the start of OB this game has started to get toned down and if it becomes too "casualized" it will ruin the game as far as I am concerned and I even play solo about 90% of the time. There's already a casual league for PoE. It's called Standard.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

" Exactly, this thing has snowballed so far, that certain people refuse to acknowledge superior solutions to the core issue. "No! We must have self-found leagues because it got 400 upvotes on reddit 3 months ago! People keep bumping threads so it must be true!" Guys, you can do better than that. Realize that self-found leagues will either split up the playerbase even further or force non-trading on a large number of people. There are better solutions out there to deal with the MF and Trading issues. |

" you just got me there with mentioning "drops". it's a sad thing allocated loot got implemented in the first place but the worst thing is i meanwhile quite enjoy the possibility of joining pa pyramid parties, collecting wisdom scrolls in cleared areas and getting my share on rares guaranteed too while not actually doing any fighting. if you can't beat it, join it :) age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

Standard is casual

is that our enemies are human beings like us. They can only be our enemies in relative terms." |
