What's wrong with deterministic crafting?
" Interesting, what was it, 23% fire resist? Can't be bothered to look up your min-maxed fire resistance to be honest, but I doubt many people would consider the items you linked "min-maxed". " Don't really know how to use it in 3.14 (have a rough idea, but never used it this patch), since I barely played this league. I guess I could figure it out if I wanted to, but I can't be bothered to be honest. Waiting to see what 3.15 will bring, but doubt I will play much (holiday season and outdoor activities are coming up). Remove Horticrafting station storage limit.

"Pieces you clearly bought. If you knew what you were talking about you wouldnt be here complaining about it. BTW you completely glazed over the fact the assassins garb isnt fully crafted, i said it is craftable. All it takes is a prefix lock and a crit roll, then whatever else i feel like putting on it and its done. At the low cost of only 2 exalted orbs. Wow. Very difficult. Too much RNG to spam roll life modifiers, prefix lock and roll a crit modifier. Completely not deterministic at all. 🙄 My items are min maxed, not perfect. I guess you cant understand the definition of the word youre using it seems ? So you dont know what min-maxing actually is ? Let me explain it for you then. Min-Maxing is making efficient decisions for the best possible outcome. This means both currency, time and functionality. A Cyclone build for example, with my chest piece, allows for the better version of crit facebreaker cyclone (or if you wanted to go the para route you could). The main min-max here is the - total mana cost making cyclone free. This lets you cast it for no mana cost and fully reserve your pool by going pride with charisma instead of going two circles of guilt and running HOP. The DPS difference between the two is substantial. Everything else on it is "fluff" but actually pretty fucking good because it has every single defensive modifier on it that exponentially increases survivability. In a perfect world you would have double influenced gear thats elevated. Is that min-maxed ? Fuck no it isnt. People striving towards that arent striving towards min-maxing theyre striving towards perfection. Which should absolutely be reserved for the people spending the time investment to actually do so. In other words, min maxing is a buzz word for EFFICIENCY. Harvest sucks! But look at my decked out gear two weeks in! Labyrinth salt farm miner. Tin_foil_hat, I think you are here to rant/troll rather than discuss, but giving you the benefit of the doubt, can you succinctly sum up your top 2 or 3 points in a sentence each? Here, this is what it looks like, these are mine;
1 - Deterministic crafting is more fun for people who dont enjoy gambling, hence it would get them to interact with game mechanics, even if power is way below Harvest. 2 - The nerfs to Harvest appear to generally focus on maxxed out crafters who use TFT to pump out the best items in the game, and its disappointing GGG balanced around them rather than players outside the top 2%. |

"Im a troll because you cant counter argue ? Deterministic crafting ISNT fun. Have you heard the phrase "efficiency sucks the fun out of it" ? This is commonly used in many games that are ARPGS/RPGS/MMORPGS. Harvest sucks the fun out of the game because the deterministic crafting is the best way to craft and the best way to brainstorm builds. People dont like gambling ? Why are you even playing an ARPG if you dont like that kind of gameplay ? Its literally the feature of the genre. Again, your argument has no grounds. Harvest doesnt focus on maxxed out crafters, it literally exists to create good gear. ALL crafting you can do with Harvest in its current state is usable by anyone and it offers a great FREE way to deterministically craft good gear. Can it be used for endgame, completely perfect items ? Yeah. If you werent crafting with top end mods before the changes literally dont affect you so why are you here complaining that "the top 2% of players ruined it for everyone!". Harvest literally didnt change at all for anyone, not even those "top 2% of players", all they did was make it more difficult to perfect gear utilizing it, which isnt a bad thing at all. But my all means continue to blame the 2% of people making perfect items and "ruining harvest", which in actuality, isnt ruined at all. Maybe play the game more instead of making false claims ? You claim im "ranting" and a "troll" when in actuality youre the one not addressing a single thing ive stated with a logical counter argument. So to iterate again. >Harvest is 100% free. >No entry or exit cost. >All craft usages are free. >Allows you to deterministically craft mods >Has similar power to an Eternal Orb which was removed from the game for making crafting too easy >Literally saves you money and is the most efficient means of obtaining gear in the game BY FAR. >I could probably list more but i wont. And your argument against those facts is "lol its not fun because i cant craft perfect gear for free and the 2% crafters ruined it all for everyone". Thats not even an argument, thats an opinion. An objectively wrong opinion at that. Harvest sucks! But look at my decked out gear two weeks in! Labyrinth salt farm miner. Why would anybody show a pair of boots that has benchcrafted movespeed.. and not only that its not even the highest rank... how lazy can you be

" List more what? These are not arguments. I think what you are trying to say is that Harvest is in good enough shape as it is because of your list, and should not be further changed. You need to state your central 'theory' or 'argument' along with why you think it, otherwise its just a jumble of emotional stream of consciousness not tied to a coherent point. So, list your central statement, then supporting argument. Just a suggestion. "Harvest doesnt focus on maxxed out crafters" Chris Wilson: "Even the crafts we made quite rare felt pretty common when the entire community was pooling them together and using them on the right items." So yes, they did balance around TFT trading, who were the only ones making maxxed crafts. "Deterministic crafting ISNT fun." This is not a logical or supported argument, its just your opinion. Which doesn't make it invalid. Its just as valid as saying "Random gambling is not fun". Both are true statements, just for different people. You do understand both are possible? "But my all means continue to blame the 2% of people" No one did, I blamed the designers for balancing around them. You keep getting simple things wrong. Again, this is why I suspect you are just trolling. Which isn't a crime, its just boring. "youre the one not addressing a single thing ive stated with a logical counter argument." You dont really seem to know how to make a specific, direct statement, then support it. Your rants don't have structure, they are just your stream of consciousness. I mean this is a video game forum, but honestly, its a really good life skill to develop. I think what you are trying to say is this 1 - Harvest is still very strong 1b - Proof of this, look at these items I made. They are not maxxed but acceptable. 2 - Determinism is not fun 2b - You need some proof here that no one likes deterministic crafting. You dont have to prove that some people do like gambling, Vegas has done that pretty well. But you didnt just state that people like gambling, you stated no one likes deterministic crafting. The response thread to Harvest nerfs suggests otherwise. Please add your proof. 3 - People who want Harvest back actually are noobs/dont play the game / don't deserve the best gear? 3b - This is your weakest argument so far, not sure where you are going with it. Maybe build on it? Is that right? |

" No, you are a troll because you don't want to argue, as evidenced here: " Both items were crafted by myself, from scratch (I bought the bases and for the boots bought the two items with the influenced mods that were awakened together, also reluctantly did use TFT to get the crafts needed). " It is to me. Maybe it isn't to you. " Exactly as "free" as Exalted Orbs, using them is free as well (you use up the Exalted Orb, but so do you use up the Harvest craft). " Don't have the unveiled mod and didn't have the currency to craft MS on those boots. Also I value the onslaught more than the MS (do in fact need the highest crafted tier though). Remove Horticrafting station storage limit.

"Youre trying to say objective facts arent arguments, everything you said including that is null. By your words, you should learn to argue correctly, its a good life skill. Especially when your argument utilized actual, objective facts and not subjective opinions. Harvest sucks! But look at my decked out gear two weeks in! Labyrinth salt farm miner. I am wondering why some people feel the need to go around in circles. You all said your piece, what is the point in repeating it over and over again? It's not like you will convince the other party.
What most of you arguing here fail to realize is that there is no right or wrong answer to this question. Right or wrong here depends on the preferences of the one answering the question and as such it always will be subjective. Which is why this is the ideal topic for the developers to tackle instead of the players to pointlessly mull about on. - edit: ofc everyone should feel free to voice their opinion. What I find to be pointless is arguing with each other on who is right and who is wrong :) With that said and since you all seem to be so fond of giving communication advice, here are a few tidbits of my own to chew on: - We tend to attribute negative motivation/intent to those who suggest things that we do not like. After all, they suggested something that would harm us, so they surely must want to harm us. Wrong. People are very rarely outright malicious. Most people are simply selfish, but even then their motives are usually pure, its just that the solution they see as the right one will inherently be one that fits their needs. So when you respond to someone, keep in mind that they are not just out there to ruin your game. They want to improve it just as much as you do, its just that you see different solutions as good or right. Their intentions are nonetheless good. It is very easy to be condescending or hostile to someone who you assume is out there to harm you. Be careful to not respond with violence to someone who is just trying to help in their own way. - When we feel strongly about something, it is hard to accept that the other party is not seeing it the same way. We want to convince them and we want to do so at all costs. Wrong. You cannot always convince people. When you find yourself using the same arguments over and over in different variations, you must realize, that the discussion has reached its end point and there is nothing more to gain by repeating yourself. It might sting to leave the argument undecided, you might even feel that you allow the other party "win" the argument by not responding, but in reality it is you who is winning, simply be saving yourself some time to devote to more meaningful things instead of running around in circles. That's it for today. Last edited by csebal#1544 on Jun 30, 2021, 5:56:49 PM
