You are equating the number of viable skills with more choice, I am saying that there is no choice to make because I have access to everything at full power without making a choice. See? Or do you lack reading comprehension skills?

Well, your definition of choice is unique, but not in a good way.

My definition of choice is simply the definition of the word.

choice/CHois/
Noun:
An act of selecting or making a decision when faced with two or more possibilities.

I believe I am correct in stating that I do not have to make any choices in order to acquire all possible skills.

I said NOTHING about customization, and I am in no way ignorant of how the system works. I just don't like it as it does not promote build diversity or meaningful choices.

I believe the shit said about reading comprehension really applies to you more than anyone else in this discussion.

Devs have stated multiple times that ITEMS will promote build diversity. The exact mechanics has not been revealed (+% elemental damage, +% damage with specific skills, +% damage with specific skill sets; all posibilities).

There is a promotion of build diversity, the difference is that if you get bored with a build you can switch out and "eat" the time it takes to get new equipment for your new build.

Thanks for giving me the devs opinion on their game since I cant read or comprehend what I read! This changes my opinions!!!! It will be awesome just like Dungeon Seige III ! YAY!!!

Since when did that become the major factor of a game?

You will make choices about which skills to use.

And in Call Of Duty you choose the weapon and perks to use.

ALL HAIL new HnS king Call of Duty. !!!!!

I lol'd

You have said over and over that "because you get all the skills there will be no build diversity". Assuming that you mean that in reference to a reason to specialize in a kit the fact that the devs have stated "yah later there's stuff that will make you question your kit" kind of invqalidates your point. Assuming they follow through with that promise.

In other words: I was telling you that as long as the devs aren't lying to us there will be reasons to kit yourself in a specific way and "soft" caps on how often you can change your kit. Thereby enforcing a need to specialize with a kit.

You have to realize by now that posting D3 dev statements will not further your argument.

If they are not outright lying then those statements invalidate your belief by making kit specialization attractive.

Would you prefer I wait until the game's release then start posting items that make specializing an appealing choice?

No. I still feel that skill 'kits' do not offer the level of character development that I look for in an RPG. I will never feel that they are. Item customization exists in ALL ARPGS, however, some actually require thought in character build process as well so this is also not an adequate argument.

Bottom line, you will not change my mind based on your opinion or the opinions of the game devs. Simple as that. I feel the system is very lacking in RPG elements, and you cannot change that by stating shit I already know.
I feel the opposite after i gave Age of Empire Online once the weekend beta end and it was weird how a simple game made me realize how PoE lacks the trading and crafting system. It basically a never ending and boring journey to "kill X to reach Z"

I use to like PoE until i try other games and I'm sure you'll change your mind once you play D3. I think we all have "slut symptom" aka we play with any game that appeal to us until we found a new one that suited our pleasure and stick to it :P

Its like talking about how you scored X in the locker room with your friend but you play with Z the next day.
A big thank you to Gari11 for the beta key! <3 on 4/13/2012

My video review and build if anyone interestd

I have been in the D3 Beta since December so I have played it. I actually played it quite a lot in every patch iteration with every class and don't like the RPG elements or lack thereof.

So I assumes you don;t like FF7 or 8. Or morrowind. Or Oblivion.

Hell what are some other RPG's generally considered great that don't have skill point systems and offer everything to every player. Final Fantasy Tactics is pretty damn good IIRC. Last Remnant has a pretty decent following... Final fantasy XIII was pretty good too.

Ugh I apparently need to start playing better RPGs.

And from what I've seen of 1/3rd of Act 1, Diablo 3 got way cooler weapon models than anything PoE has to offer in its 2 acts.

Which might be visible for 2 out of 5 classes.
