Yeah, I'm pissed... it's been 3 years.

Numerous people asked about trading in the Dev Q&A post, and all Chris could say is "I don't have anything to announce about trading improvements at this stage."

I mean seriously!?

All I wanted was some info to let me know there's a light at the end of the tunnel and he couldn't even do that.

Am I the only one upset about this?

You don't always get to know exactly what is going on, at all times, whenever you want to know it. Chris talked about it in the state of exile podcast some months ago. Working on coming up with a proper system and wont be ready to talk about it until its ready to be shown. New systems take time to build and with everything else going on with act4 etc. they probably have their plates full. I want the trade system too, but the way things currently are isn't that bad. Completely manageable.

this game rly needs a new trade system to make trade even easier and overpowered so that people can complain even more that its a trading game and not an arpg, thats really what we need right? Those terrible devs working on things like new items, skills and acts when really what we need is more ways to get loot from trade, shocking.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

Another person who fails to see the point, shocking.

Maybe next time you should read more than just the topic title before replying to a thread.

PS; Over 2 thousand views... I'd say this topic obviously needs addressing.

That's the problem right! "He talked about it in a podcast". (I know, as I stumbled upon it) But the point in my post a couple pages ago was that such information need to get out to the people. And talking about it for 5-10 minutes in a, what was it, 2-2,5 hour long podcast, isn't really a good way to get the information out to the customers. Mentioning what he talked about in that podcast in a news post from around the same time wouldn't really be that big of a problem to do, would it?

I just assume its something Chris doesn't even really think about when he talks about key information on a podcast or such. Might feel ok saying a few things in a general way there, but doesnt want to construct an explanation for the whole of the playerbase here just yet. I can see how it might happen that way and I can also see how this could frustrate the players. My advice would be to voice desires in a rational manner and keep an eye out for any information you can here or elsewhere. Its well known that Chris goes to reddit often, make sure to check there too.

Act4 will bring change to the game. All we can do is wait to see what that change includes.

no I read whart you had to say, shouldnt have to rely on third party websites...

so they should devote time to replicating what already exists rather than make new stuff? We have third party websites, parts of the community have made things for the game that work, whats the point in them making an official version of those tools when they already exist and they can make other content instead? I dont fail to see the point, I just dont agree with it, the third party systems are already more powerful than GGG wanted trade to be, and theres tons of backlash about how powerful trade is, I think you fail to see that. the whole 'oh noes third party stuff shouldnt have to be used and ggg should make their own versions" is completely short sighted, they should allow as much as possible to be offloaded on to the community so that it frees time to make the stuff we cant implement ourselves like actual content.

Yeah, I assume the same, with all due respect towards Chris, he does a hell of a job! But I think it's smart thing to get someone to handle more of the community communication, as I think he doesn't think about that talking about such important information there, while not even giving it a short mention on the official forums, same goes for official information on reddit (which I do check from time to time), it should be atleast briefly included in news posts on the official site. That's the point I'm getting at. And as I mentioned earlier, any information is better then nothing (on the official site), as it often is with alot of information regarding changes, new functions, etc. I think alot of people would be happier getting to know "Hey, trading system won't come untill after x, y, z functions, which we deem more important." As an example of something he could say on the matter. Then the community atleast know what's going on.
New items would be cool if they actually dropped. They should've finished the trade system before launch tbh
