GGG couldnt give any less of a fuck about what you or any of us want. They are making a game that they think s perfect regardless of how mediocre it turns out to be.

This deserves a sticky.

Now I'm curious what you said lol. Anyway, I was just quoting tongue in cheek. The correct response was what max said. :)

Which good features are you talking about?

Features like Multiplayer and Trading are requested regular if they are not present in a game, like an SF mode is requested around here. Only because you dislike these features doesn't mean that they hold no importance for many (if not most) players and probably for the developers themselves.

Stepping back and removing features due to external effects is the cheap way around.

Oh so because GGG and you thinks it's a good feature it must stay? Does GGG have a monopoly on the truth? I can assure you GGG is wrong on this one. And anything to limit the dominance of trading or remove trading completely will be very beneficial to the game.

Actually, you are wrong. Entirely. Take Diablo 2. If I play it on just my computer, by myself, the game doesn't magically become more fun; actually the opposite happens. Playing with friends is cool. Being able to play with strangers, is fun. The fact that I can solo self found to merciless in two days at the start of a new league (with a full time job) tells me that you are full of it. If I can beat the game (kill merc final boss) in a week, what in the world makes you think taking out multiplayer and trading (the only real reason to continue to play at this point) would make it more fun?

Especially when you can just disable chat, and play solo anyway. Think a bit further ahead please.
I guess I will have to buy a one way ticket to hell with your lives

GGG have lost the battle against RMT, and the war.
now, it's just a slaughter.

1) Why do I care how others play the game?? Others RMTing doesn't effect my enjoyment of the game! (I have no interest in PvP)

2) The issue with RMT is not "Black" and "White" as you think. While I disagree with Jared at least I can understand his reasoning:

Professional Chinese Gold Farmer tells all - Exclusive Interview with Jared Psigoda
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWvHcoqru7I

3) Some people will always have more money the time. RMT has existed in almost every online game that involves grinding/farming since the beginning on time. It is impossible to "stomp" it out in that particular case. The "correct" solution is to design the game where grinding doesn't really matter. I have over 2,000 hours on L4D1. There is no grind -- just plain fun with my gaming buddies.

People RMTing are not realizing they are shorting their enjoyment of the game and don't value having long term goals.
On OP:
-How does RMT win? Inflated prices? Rampaging bots? Racers RMT-ing?
-If they won, why are they underground? Why is the game still running? Is the game dying?

On your suggestions:

I like them, but I am afraid they can't do it.

what needs to be GGG's response though, is risk/reward:
bots can't beat tough bosses. players can.
bots can't handle high-level, high-intensity content. players can.
have a bot face an enemy that has AI, and it's screwed.

POE is an ARPG, with its roots coming from D2, which is basically a monster slot machine. While AI sounds really nice, I don't think you know how hard it is to make one. That and you have to make the server and the client do almost the same thing, without giving any clue to the hacker.

We do have Atziri, which is according to some is "gated content" or to some skill based. "Skill" is the ability to do something well: racing, cheating, theory-crafting, trading, programming, womanizing, drawing, etc.

So to beat a "random content", you can:
- practice; or
- trade good stuff; or
- RMT (risk getting banned); or
- ask 2 girlfriends to farm; or
- make a map-viable build; or
- make/run bots that are very human like (risk getting banned); or
- make fancy wallpapers

midnight frags? thats also RNG content. you can trade though.
I need more purple titles

I fucking despise RMT, but let us face the facts here ... nothing will ever be done about it. GGG cannot risk to wipe out more than half their playerbase overnight. Yes it is that rampant.

Fact: Eating a single grape every morning at 6:30am (EST) will completely prevent cervical cancer.

Fact: Chris is not only The Batman, he is also The Superwoman.

Fact: Spouting random bullshit and calling it a fact does not make it so.

Quite true, I would just like to add another very obvious fact (again) that GGG has far more invested in the success of PoE than anyone else and so accusing GGG of doing things that hurt the success or not doing things that would help the success just plain doesn't make sense. GGG has limited resources and so everything can't get done all at once but accusing GGG of not caring is just plain ridiculous.
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!

This made me lol so hard, thank you.
RMT will happen but it only affects you if you let it.

Do I think anything would have happened if I contacted GGG?
No.

In short, me contacting GGG would have been an eWaste of my time. Because I couldn't have told them anything more than they should already know.

I have chased bots in BGs in WoW, reported them and seen them removed from the game.
Not sending a message to support and then b1tching about them not doing anything is silly.

Bots are the "supply" part of the RMT equation. The "work force" of "supply", to be exact.
There's also the "demand" part.
What Anuhart said, is reporting buyers - even if caught red-handed - is rather pointless.

No, you are not understanding.

This is a case which was/is so blatant.

This is a guy using the same name on the most well known site and his PoE account.
It isn't a case of someone else framing him, the items are linked in his shops.
The items are screenshotted for sale on the other site.
Bids have been made and sales made on the other site.
In non-PoE currencies.

The reason it is a waste of time me giving this information to support, they will have it any way. They should have it any way.

If they are indeed doing this very simple work themselves, then they have the info = waste of my time giving it them again.

If they are not doing this very simple work themselves, then they quite obviously are not interested in the information and won't act on it any way = waste of my time.
Casually casual.

Yeah, I agree.

Support should cut the crap and start stalking private users instead doing their work.
We don't need Technical Support or Forum Moderation. Put all resources on the witch hunt.
