Good, so you admit they are issues and you simply do not personally find them to have a negative impact on your experience.

So we can continue discussing these issues and potential solutions. I guess that means you're done posting here, as you can only be trolling if you are defending things that you yourself call issues.

I never denied the issues weren't there nor was I defending their existence IN THE FIRST PLACE. lol

ugh....

On one hand you have a semi-casual who plays for the enjoyment when he feels like it. Completing the game or a build is obviously not a priority if the game isn't providing enjoyment at the same time.

Then there's the hardcores who have beaten all the easy content many times over, frustrated with the progression as you approach the final content which is the true goal for these guys.

@Calypso, I'm not saying you are wrong but what you are defending has nothing to do with what these guys want changed. Same goes for you John. Jeeeperrss...

Creepers! Where'd you get those eyes!

Sorry. Had to. First thing I thought of when I read the end of your post. lol

But yea, you're certainly right.

I see myself as the "stupid gamer" type, lukeiy. old and stupid.
and more than a bit masochistic even.

this game has completely randomly screwed me over more times than I can ever count. hit me across the face with just about every dice-fail and every technical issue, again and again - and yet I'm still here.
complaining, but still playing. and still caring about the game just as much as I did a month, a year, and 1.5 years ago.

I'm also still trying to change things, even though this isn't Kansas (Beta) anymore, and GGG have done everything except explicitly telling me to piss off.
still waiting for that email/PM saying "will you shut the fuck up?" ;)

Calypso? he's probably the not-stupid gamer: all hyped up now, but he'll be gone the second PoE starts kicking him in the balls. he'll tolerate none of this "random screw you" stuff.
I know I wouldn't, if I was smarter.
he'll probably not even bother to leave an "I Quit!" thread, when he does.

what annoys me about him though, is he insists lecturing to people with "a bit" more PoE knowledge and experience - so just stop.

Usually when people say peace, they say it once and never come back. Boem your "peace"es are becoming less meaningful :|

Peace
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes
Random rant, since ya'll behaving like kids.. :P

Do you guys remember the time when a combined power of four (4) people, trying to play endgame, couldn't reach one fucking lvl 77 map, even after spending every orb on rolling maps? I do remember. It was about this time a year ago and I ragequit because of it, after we did our last 76 or 75 without map drops...

The game has improved since then and RNG has been tamed a bit.. :P

Morbo hits with nostalgia. crits for 9001 damage :)

yeah RNG right now is probably more forgiving than in Open Beta.
still is random though...

P.S: that rare Bazaar Map. fitting name.

And it only took 3000 hours.

Many people, like myself, play progression, aRPG loot finders precisely for those reasons to progress our characters and find loot. As opposed to simply buying loot and fast-tracking.

PoE, on the surface looks great, everything one could want, even being tuned so heavily on trading can allow the non-trader to create their own loot-find challenges. Let's face it, with the instant gratification of gamers today, if this game was tuned for self found, it would be over in a week, for anyone with more than 1 hr a day to spare, one big fucking pinata. And people would still make it easier by buying.

There is, however, this massive void between the two extremes and I think PoE have failed to utilise that space. Designing end game content access around sinking several dozen people's currency through a single person, is wrong.

From about 2 months back, there was 4 maps I had never accessed. Necropolis, Crematorium, Shrine and Shipyard. Making headway up to 74/75/76 maps then getting kicked back down to 70/69.
The thing being, that self found, no-trade, is a ratio of something like 50:1, faceroll orb farming v map progression (make that attempted map progression).

About a month ago, after a 300+ hour faceroll farm, I put my orbs to use and tried to progress my maps which were a typical pyramid of 1 x 75 down to 40ish x 69s. I ended up with nothing higher than 7 x 69s.

At this point, a very nice, but very pissed guy named morbo, who played as I do, had decided to attempt to see all content before leaving the game. He went all in trading and invited 3 of us to accompany him in his quest to see all content. 4 players who on the whole played solo and self found on a no-life basis, coming together in what appeared to be the only way this game allows progress, trading and grouping. Not exactly what any of us wanted from an aRPG.

We had fun, we accessed up to 76, but morbo's wealth dwindled at a pretty depressing rate.
The final straw was getting not even a single 66 from two maps that had cost a tremendous amount of orbs to roll

Morbo was done, all wealth gone, what little he had left he handed to the three of us and left the game, denied the simple access to content he so wanted even after caving and going full trade and party. We probably will never see this fine fellow back in PoE again.

The three of us carried on, as best we could. Bill had a few low 70's rolled, we chewed at them and they all went. Bill has now gone the way of the morbo, another salt of the earth guy, self claimed no-lifer, back playing D2.

That left two of us, John is kind of busy doing things and organised progression became impossible any way, as I will not trade, have no wealth other than the wealth I see in gear for my current and future characters. How I think wealth should be, in an aRPG.

So I'm back to square one, solo, self found, no trade. Farming faceroll content at a 50:1 ratio to attempted map progression.

I got extremely fucking lucky. I managed to land a +2 from 72 then a +1 from that. Landing me a Bazaar. I farmed hours and hours to loot the chisels and put around 50 chaos through it until I got area/pack/magic with 3 other high quantity mods. If ever there was a map that needed divined, this was it

but how often do I see a divine drop? Against my better judgement and after another 20 or so hours of 'divine farming' (lol) I yolo'd the map.

It got me a Crematorium. Thirty hours of faceroll farming again and the Crem is mazed, Magaera is a pussy, thanks for the Shrine, bitch.

Forty hours of faceroll later, Hasted Pietits? Enfeebled mod? GTFO silly woman, thanks for the Shipyard.

So we got there, but I stand alone. After almost 3000 hours, it will be over that by the time I roll this shipyard, I have access all areas.

I should be pleased, maybe even proud.
I'm actually sick to the stomach of how trying to play a so called HC game, actually with HC game-play results in a choice of either shop/shopkeep or faceroll.
I'm a bit ashamed I wasn't accompanied by some of the nicest people I ever met, I'm very fucking annoyed that they were pissed on so heavily, and to top it off, I know I was extremely lucky to have even gotten those maps.

Morbo, Bill, John, get your asses back to run this shipyard FFS.

Spoiler
John, it doesn't matter whether you are undergeared or whatever, stand in the back, I want you there.

:O
Bill wants to go out with a bang. I have 2 ex and little else. Bill has ~1300 alts, 30 regals, a couple of divines, 5 ex and an eternal.

Let's see what happens.

Spoiler
Stage 1 complete, go Bill, lol.

Eternal time?

--------------------------------------------
Much debating to be had.

--------------------------------------------
Coin landed tails, why is it always tails?

--------------------------------------------
250 alts, 10 regals left. I like this one, at least a bit.

--------------------------------------------
It seems I was outvoted 1:1. Wait! What?
Throwing some curved balls in now to use up regals.

--------------------------------------------
Pondering using up exes, wish these affixes would follow champs/hordes.

--------------------------------------------
Using up dem regals.

--------------------------------------------
Crafting, yo.

--------------------------------------------
"This is it" ~BillNRND 2013 and a bit.

--------------------------------------------
Down to 120 alts, the regal wasn't great, but wasn't bad.

We have to eternal now. :O
--------------------------------------------
Chilled, Command, Fire dmg.

--------------------------------------------
All in now, alt-regals. 3 ex to use on the imprint or a better regal if it comes.
--------------------------------------------
Alts gone, imprint restored. 3 yolo exes to go.

--------------------------------------------
Burning, totems, recovery.

--------------------------------------------

YOLO

Peace (Good eh, Boem?)
Casually casual.
