I'll tell you what gets me.
Bot or RMT and even IF you get perma banned, you can make another account.
Apparently, when a certain RMT supplier (RIP streamer) got banned, the mail actually said he could simply make another account.
Another well known banned botter who was warned first, then banned, plays now on another account, hell... is it even the same account?
Now, GGG push for the 4 month leagues to be the main game, extra incentives, league only items and mechanics, etc. There is little down time between 4 month leagues.
Cross league trading from parent leagues to 4 month leagues is not allowed (I'm not disagreeing with this). Which ultimately means parent league wealth is obsolete.
So the policy really looks like this;
Bot and RMT all you want, you risk only the remainder of this short league.
But even then, risk is a stretch, as there are obvious cases that don't get banned.
I understand your points anuhart, i was just stating it is impossible for them to enforce there own rules when the economy is barter based. It does not add up.
Guy get's 20000 exalts in a trade for an iron ring. GGG knocks on his door and starts pointing a finger, guy just responds "it's a barter economy guys, i did a good deal that day"
GGG has to back off. They have no solid grounds to ban the guy. (obviously they can it is there house, but that's not the issue here)
These rules conflict with how the economy works, i was amazed they even introduced them to begin with. Since it is fairly obvious it is just a rule-set for show and nothing more.

Well, conflicting design and contradictions run deep throughout PoE.
Casually casual.

To be fair GGG probably shouldn't have attempted to include a full-blown economy in their first game, especially when none of the devs had the capacity to do so.

i dont think buying items is bad.. it is the same thing has saying to a friend "i'll buy u a cheeseburger if you give me a stack of fusings or w/e"
selling on the other end is bad because GGG doesnt profit.

How does one "buy" without there also being a "sell"?
Oh wait I get it, you're ok with ggg selling, not anyone else. Got it!

every popular game that allows trading will sooner or later lose the fight with RMT. There are lots of ppl that bot for living and they will do everything to win.
The solution is simple. SFL.

Hey GGG,
Why has this item been listed for mirroring service for at least a month in standard (as long as I've noticed its existence) on a certain multi-site RMT conglomerate for D2/PoE?
Bramble Veil Praetor Crown
Rarity: Rare
Level Req: 68
119% Increased Armour and Energy Shield
+98 to Life
+72 to Maximum Energy Shield
+45% to Fire Resistance
+42% to Cold Resistance
+45% to Lightning Resistance
Surely there aren't so many of this specific item that it's that hard to find what account it's being mirrored from. There are dozens of other 'mirror service' items that can't have very many identical versions in the world you could find. Yet they persist.

You could sell an iron ring for 10000 exalts to another player.
It would be no indication of RMT activity's, since it is a bartering system this would be allowed.
This is the same reason why the "cross league trading" rule-set is retarded to begin with.
So basically, you can't justify the evidence you gather due to the bartering nature of the economy.
In cross league trading, the same rule apply's.
Sell a kaoms primacy for 1 alteration orb = allowed.
(really these rules baffle me, since they can't be upholded in any way or form.)
Sneaky LOL!

Nothing sneaky about it, just pointing out the flaw in that rule-set.

That's far from the truth. The economy in PoE is currency based, where orbs function as gold aka currency. Bartering means you are switching end products with other end products, without intermediary. Though you can barter in PoE, nobody does that, everybody uses orbs akin to gold intermediary for transactions.
Shady transactions can be identified on this basis, as nobody will give you 100 exalts for a white iron ring.

So easy to track :x I know about 3 out of the top 10 in ambush whos doing RMT and they don't even cover their tracks is the funny part.
If you can email us about these accounts and any evidence you think is relevant that would be really good. We investigate and ban botters / RMT'ers frequently through our own methods but having community input does help (and we don't receive such emails as often as some might think)
edit: support@grindinggear.com
Yeah, im sorry to say but that doesnt work, i sent GGG a full report filled with screenshots with the char and account name, proving he sells orbs for money and for guild points, there was like 5-6 screenshots showing a real money transaction in the chat and like 4 or 5 of his toons
in this report.
And GGG did nothing. And the guy is still selling orbs for real money like it's not illegal.
