No offense, but this is a lot better reasoning than your original post. It would be very interesting to get some statistics on how long players would play before they find their first "end game" or "build defining" unique in each game.
See, currently I much prefer having the option to trade. In PoE when that big drop comes it's nice to be able to convert it into a different big drop through trading. In D3 when the big drop comes if it's not what you wanted you don't really have any other options.
I understand the people who want to gear up on their own without any trading, and I know why they prefer Diablo 3. In D3 you know that drop is coming every hour or 45 minutes or so. But the thing is PoE is designed so that rare items are the best items. In D3 you can pretty much completely ignore the rares that drop. So while I think Diablo 3 wins for better beam of light consistency I think PoE wins hands down on loot interest.
I could see a self found player choosing either game. However, anyone else should really be playing PoE... The lack of an economy is a huge limitation.
Yeah, if you like standing around spamming in the trade chats/forums then PoE is hands down the better game.
Thus PoE = Trading Simulator and D3 = ARPG.
Don't get me wrong, I love simulator and "spreadsheet" game and PoE is a good one at that.
It's almost like you didn't read my post. :-)
It's cool man. If D3 is your jam, then enjoy. I just happen to think that you're fooling yourself if you think the drops are any better over there. But if a legendary every hour or so works for you then by all means enjoy it to its fullest.

lol. i dont think d3 in its current implementation is capable of being too hard for anyone. Sorry you are too pedantic to discuss the design decisions. have fun being the bestest in d3, but you are fooling yourself.
It's cool you can bow out. ;)

Someone really stated D3 is hard? Hahaha well now that's fucking ''Glorious'' but hey It's his opinion.

It must be for him since he apparently can't even control his character due to all the "loss of character control" design D3 has. <snicker>

I don't buy this at all. The only time I "lose control of my character" in D3 is if I F up and don't time my "get out of jail" skills like teleport for example - and I step in something on my own.
I find this odd because the only time I died in D3 was when I was immediately re-vortex'd back into the shit after using my escape skill to escape. Couldn't get out again, because the escape skill was then on cool-down and couldn't be used. And if I used my escape skill to escape I was taking too much damage in the first place and most likely used my potion to heal as well, which means my potion was on cool-down too when re-vortex'd back into the shit.
This situation was more manageable when playing tanky, but when playing glass cannon/ranged, where you can really take hits, if you keep your escape skill in reserve to escape vortex when it happens, and the after escaping you are immediately re-vortex'd that's just BS.
In my book, the entire vortex mechanic is total BS. It can be spammed against you and your defense against it is a one-off that has a cool-down. (Not that I have to worry about this any more. Don't play Garbage 3 any more).

I'll take escapable mechanics vs desync + 1shot mechanics every day of the year.

Then you just happen to be wrong. Have you even played RoS? It really does not seem like it.
PS
It's really beside the point, but from where did you get that legs come at regular intervals of one every 45-60 minutes? Did you read it somewhere or just made it up?
Also, you get alot closer to 3-6 legs per hour. It's hard to estimate unless you intentionally track it, as it varies widely.

listen man, that guy is the greetest d3 player of all time and has never once lost control of his character. After talking to him and others, I realize the mechanics in d3 do not make you lose control of your character, you either are bad or chose to be vortexed by wormhole.
Hey...is this thing on?

lol @greatest D3 player of all time.
No: you just have to not be a dar-dar to succeed... I think you must have been playing drunk or something to think there's so much loss of character control in D3.
lol

I play RoS every week. I get a legendary approximately every 45 minutes to an hour though I sometimes go 2 hours without one. If you are getting 3-6 legs an hour then not only am I playing a completely different game, everyone else on the D3 forums is as well...
