I don't see how anyone can claim that this game will survive if the 75% "casual" audience slowly goes away. They might have initial funding, but that will eventually run out, and since there is no cost of entry and no cost for content, long-term success relies on the viability of the shop. I don't see any reason for anyone playing solo to buy anything from the shop, and another portion of people that play in a group will just get tired of losing loot to lower latency.

why would 75 of audience go away ? because you dont like the loot distribution ?

It's theory based on experience.. We went through this sooo many times already.. Hellgate, AoC, Warhammer online, Diablo 3, SWTOR just name of few with biggest names.. If something is discussed in such a big scale like this issue...there is a real problem and there is a really danger of loosing big part of the playerbase.. We know the symptoms .. also ..in every single case of failed game..there was always people like you ..telling other people "Go away" or "You don't have any evidence about this and that"...yet..everytime it ended in same way..

This is not Diablo.. Diablo 3 already earned money for few another years of existence and development...so they have time to fix their game..make expansions etc.. but GGG started earn money pretty recently. They were donated by awesome folks with awesome bag of gold for sure.. but it will run out pretty soon unless game will be supported by masses.

Noone wants remove this cut-throat feel from hardcore games..let them enjoy in their way..many palyers just want to enjoy game differently. In separate league if needed..they don't care..but market is saturated with so many awesome games..that they wont hesitate to quit this game for good.. you know who will suffer?? They don't ..but you..supporters of current systems and who are against options .. you will be watching this game to sink.

But keep telling us there is nothing wrong.. that there are hundreds and hundreds pages of loot system discussion..and many threads are created every day about this issue..that means nothing..yea..because players are not leaving... I am only one left still playing this game..and we were 6 friends at the start of open beta..

please, no hypocrisy and dont speak in the name of many and for god sake dont wawe with your imaginary money. you dont like it, good. but dont speak in the name of other people who dont like loot system and dont act like you know what would they do.
and nobody cares about your friends. i smell major bullshit there.

Opinion noted and no one gave a fuck

I should revise my above post to say three fanboys. At any rate, you'll care when the game shuts down sue to a lack of funding due to a lack of interest in anything cosmetic when none plays in groups anymore.

Lol, lack of funding... $2.2M in closed beta alone.

There's a small group of us doing a very large proportion of the spending.

One player putting in $500 and buying anything that ever hits the cash shop is generating literally infinitely more revenue than someone who spends nothing and is just an extra port for a server to support.

Look at you, trying to threaten us with a hypothetical future that doesn't even survive its own premise. Hilarious...

I hope you realize that 2.2m that they received from supporter packs doesn't even begin to cover the costs for 6 years of development. Not trying to sound like an ass or anything, it's just something to keep in mind.

best argument = d2 was the most popular multiplayer for YEARS ans has ffa , now stfu and die

Until now, I've relished in the fact that the anti-ffa people were the ones with the abusive argument tactics for the most part and that took away from their argument. So it pains me to see someone with a reasonable perspective end their point with such a low class statement.

Get off the internet if you can't handle other people sharing their opinion.

You don't pay much attention to these threads, do you? :P

Most responses about extending timers or giving people the option to let group leaders choose how they work curtail to "STFU and GTFO, good for nothing casual scum".
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

Pay attention to the drops. They aren't "yours" until they're in your stash.

Only the most "Hardcore" of the FFA loot lovers agree with this statement.

Frankly, when I play (solo mind you, for the same reasons as the OP), EVERYTHING is mine even if I don't look at it.

When YOU play you might not think an item belongs to you until its in your stash, thats fine...but when I solo, I see everything as mine regardless of if I even pick it up or mouse over it to look at it.

You don't have to like my outlook and I don't have to like yours, but the fact still remains that a large amount of people disagree with how you view items.
I'll have to admit, as a player wanting to public group I find it hard to play in one despite the experience benefit mainly because everyone steals my loot. If Diablo III did anything right it was you get your own drops. I'd rather focus on the mobs in public games rather than trying to snag my loot when mobs are killed.

My point is that this same group of contributors is likely to continue paying into the game where an average player is not.

I only bring it up as counterpoint to people saying that the game needs to be changed so it appeals to more people, or that it needs a giant playerbase to survive. I think the game will be a wild success (and to a certain extent already is), and that dumbing it down shooting for a wider playerbase is not only something that GGG won't do, but would adversely affect its long term viability.

Luckily for me, GGG agrees with me.

It doesn't make much sense to just say, if you don't like group play, go solo, because not everyone wants to do solo.

So why do you want too play with strangers when you know there is high change he/she would only care for him/her self ? Also you don't need your friends to play the same game, I'm mostly talking with my friends on skype while they are playing their game and i am playing some other game.

Well anyway I don't care if they will change it or not it's not that it will displease me if they changed it. It just puzzles me people wanting too play with strangers who most of the time these days only care about themselfs. For me changing stuff like this loot issue is not making myself to play with these people.
