Congratulations on making SP game.

Make loot only visible to the person who has the timer, increase the timers to non cocaine-rabbit speed.

And what's wrong with rabbits juiced on cocaine? I think you, sir, need a sensitivity class.

I play solo, as a result. This game is fabulously fun, and I have faith in GGG; I really do. However they work this, I'm sure will be fine but they are also feeling things out as they develop.

I don't think this is a "Hardcore" vs "Casual" issue either. It's a play-style issue, and there are plenty of people on both sides.

I'm kind of getting sick of this supposed hardcore/casual divide. It's over-hyped and usually unwarranted.
remove timers altogether, people only think they are entitled to the items because they have their names on them for like 1-3 seconds

Dont like FFA? fine, but there are people who like it and can understand why its the type of loot we use.

honestly, if loot is such a deciding factor for you on a game, i'll have to bring something i didnt like to.

"Diablo 3 is over there."
It should simply be an option on creating a party, set by the party leader.

Rolls only each person can see, or the current system.
I really cannot see any harm in having individual loot as an option.

Do you like FFA? Fine, but there are also people who don't like it and can understand why its the type of loot you use.

Point is, there's two kinda of people in this community and paying attention to one while neglecting the other causes severe imbalance and pisses off the side that is being ignored. As it stands, both sides are being ignored (competitive players have to deal with timers and cooperative players believe they don't have long enough timers) and both sides are demanding favoritism towards their own side. GGG can see that and thats why they haven't made any moves yet, they have to be careful on their choices.

According to your point I quoted (and the point I changed to support my own point), it would be best if the choice of timers be left to the players. No, not forcing everyone to deal with longer timers or no timers at all. Why not let group leaders decide how the loot timers will work, and people interested in joining either side can see in the group tab who's chosen the loot distribution via filters?
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish.

Currently I see this as the best solution to the problem.

Unfortunately this thread didn't start out as being constructive and I'm not sure if it can serve any purpose (ie. actually reach out to the dev), so I hope this suggestion can be raised to the dev in some more effective way.

FFA loot equals single player for quite a few players. People generally don't pay for cosmetic upgrades in SP games. Sure, few might just for short visits in town, but most won't. FFA = SP = less income.

The devs are aware of the issue and are looking into it.
Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.

Thankfully GGG's attitude is somewhat more constructive than this.

All that being said, have the "instanced loot" folks ever considered that instanced loot multiplies the amount of loot dropped by however many players are playing in a party? And that maybe the game isn't balanced around those kinds of numbers? And that changing FFA to instanced loot would maybe, kind of, I don't know, break the game?

Of course. All I can reply is why the heck would anyone expect instanced loot to mean <num_players> x loot? That would be dumb and likely wreck the economy. I don't see many casuals asking for that at all.

"
I really hope GGG don't change looting from FFA to instanced.

I hope that too, and realistically there is zero chance of that happening. I hope they add the OPTION to choose between the two. Both options would satisfy more players than forcing one or the other.

I think however, the OP's point about FFA loot = less multiplayer = less spending on micros (because there is no one to impress with your bling when you solo) is a very valid one.

"
I'll answer your question with another OP. Why do you believe the Casual players should be regarded in a higher favor than the more hardcore ones?

He doesn't believe that. He believes both groups should be treated equally. The real question is why do YOU think hardcore players should be favoured?

"
I dont like instanced loot, that makes it feel very much like a single player game. I think what they currently have in place works well, but some options would be nice to accomodate all playstyles.

Ironically the thing that is making this game feel like a SP game for many is the FFA loot system. ;P

LOL, later said your making a suggestion... No your not...

Your basically bad mouthing the game, a suggestion is "please change ____ about loot" not "I wont donate to this game because I can't grab my loot"

Please if you feel like something in the game needs to be changed, then say just that.
Don't think that by flaming or threating no support ($), that you are going to change anything
