Congratulations on making SP game.

Oh but it gets better.

- Support classes who have weaker defences at the back can't safely run and stand next to melee to pick stuff up.

- Did more than your share of damage to a boss? So what, you died one second before it was downed and we will make your timers count down whilst you are in town.
Shut up!

It's common for ego-centric Americans to buy stuff to attention seek.

Sarcasm, or you are part of the crowd seeking changes? Genuine question.
GGG - Why you no?
HURR DURR IF GGG NO CATER TO ME I NO SPEND MONIEZ HURR

I love these idiots that try to act tough and make threats. As if PoE will fail without the support of these whiny and entitled children. Before OB over 2.5 million was raised from a player pool much smaller than what currently exists. Money will continue to come in from the people that supported PoE in CB, and if even just a small portion of the new players support GGG they should be making enough to sustain the shameless moochers like OP. And with any luck the worst of the lot will be gone in a couple months to troll some new game and relieve some server costs as well as mental health for those that have to put up with their petulant attitudes on the forums.

As it is right now, the way loot works sets up a nice balance between solo and party play as well as fitting with the theme of the game; party play is significantly easier than solo, but there's less loot to go around and you have to 'fight' for it. That being said, agreeing upon rules beforehand and/or playing with friends can alleviate that as well. The system may not be 100% perfect with regards to solo/party difficulty and loot drops but it's certainly in no need of major changes, e.g. instanced loot.

This is a game made by dedicated gamers for dedicated gamers. Stop trying to turn this into WoW/D3/CoD etc. The game is intended to be challenging, deep, and at times unforgiving, by choice.

1. If your character is so fragile that running in to grab 1 or 2 items is a serious risk of death then the problem isn't the loot system, its your character.

2. Don't die.

I'll answer your question with another OP

Why do you believe the Casual players should be regarded in a higher favor than the more hardcore ones? Money? that seems to be the rallying cry of the casual when demanding such core changes to a game "Make it so my grandma can play it and you'll be rich!" Is that it? Well, I got news for you a game doesn't have to cater to the casual market to make a profit. so there goes that argument so again why should the devs cater to you and abandon their vision of the game? Obviously from the amount of supporters and players and the replies to this and many other topics like it, many people are just fine with the system. So what makes you so special? Why can you not allow us to keep this game the way we like it, and for many of us the BIGGEST reason we supported it. can you not see how even this so called "option" dilutes that?

The reason I ask this is the swarm of casual players demanding core mechanic changes that come around seems to just happen in every game these days. "I can only play in 30 second bursts this isn't fair!" "I dont like this game, make all these changes so i will!" Its tiring and annoying to see this group of people follow us to every game and ruin it. Yes we do get defensive and sometimes step out of line but with good reason. We have watched you so called casuals destroy just about everything we loved about the games of old and for once we thought we found our bastion of hardcore gaming but when we see this happening all over again your damn right we will defend ourselves and not give in as we know from experience once you give the casuals an inch they go a mile. It wont stop with FFA loot and by the end of it we'll all be left with a shell of a game that was once something to be treasured.

Awesome post.

Well, what about the fact that melee classes have a distinct advantage from the get go? It might take at least half of the timer to get within distance to pick up an item, not even taking into account the fact that you could be prevented from getting into the area in which it dropped due to a hostile AoE or just being blocked by monsters.

it would probably work better if they kept the timer running at least until you are out of combat. That wouldn't slow anything down because you shouldn't be picking up loot while fighting anyway.

Melee classes are also inherently at a higher risk of death by virtue of having to stand in with mobs to deal their damage. The ranged classes definitely have to pay closer attention to drops because of this, but particularly in Hardcore this is a fair trade off, imo.

i threw down 100$ to play solo. i got tabs and few nice cosmetics. they do make u look much nicer on the eyes. also i do meet ppl that are reasonable and i have friends that are waiting for the server to stabilize a bit. all in all this is a silly post and the devs have already stated SP is not happening or aka ur offline mode. if this is all about loot well devs said they are looking at something but im pretty sure they also said the core of FFA loot is here to stay. so dont like that dont know what to tell ya.

I am abit amazed that no one is capable of meeting nice ppl? i wouldnt call myself nice but i at least try to be polite till i know if ur an asshat. kids on the internet i swear
