Congratulations on making SP game.

Yes, it is that topic again. Why? Because it is a big issue and unless devs take a side here on forums, those topics will pop up again and again.
And again. FFA loot equals single player for quite a few players. People generally don't pay for cosmetic upgrades in SP games. Sure, few might just for short visits in town, but most won't. FFA = SP = less income. If that's your business model, it's fine with me. I'm still playing Diablo 2 from time to time, always SP. Self-found 2 SoJs and full Tal-Rasha among other things. Am I going to play PoE? Sure, it looks like a lot of fun. Am I ever going to party with anyone or pay for visual upgrades? Hell no. FFA means you're basically giving your game away for free without any chance of earning single penny from players like me. And if you browse forums you'll see that camp "FFA = SP" is quite big. Keep in mind we're not asking for removing FFA entirely, we're asking for options. There's HUGE difference. If you believe that dozens of solo players fit Wreaclast's theme (and your business model) better than few groups of happy players, that's fine. It's your game after all. I just don't see how it's making it better. Long story short: FFA won't stop me from playing PoE, but it sure as hell stops me from spending a single dime on it. And I'm not the only one with that attitude. Last edited by Foreverhappychan#4626 on Jan 31, 2013, 9:03:01 PM

You make some good points and I agree with you. It is also hilarious that the two fanboys above can't construct a valid argument against what you've said.

What is SP

" I should revise my above post to say three fanboys. At any rate, you'll care when the game shuts down sue to a lack of funding due to a lack of interest in anything cosmetic when none plays in groups anymore. |

Pay attention to the drops. They aren't "yours" until they're in your stash.

" Valid arguement? We need to? Theres arguements about this all over the forum. OP knows it too. Theres just no reason to keep on making new threads. Im not siding with anyone FYI. I have my opinions, but at the end of the day, it doesnt even affect me. Im an ingame solo farmer, fairly well known to do so always. Good attempt at an insult though. Fanboy. That hurts. :D GGG - Why you no?

Let me weigh in here before the hate train gains too much speed (and I ask again, what the hell is wrong with a community that claims to love a game and want it to flourish, and then flame the living shit out of anyone who makes a suggestion?)
I understand the desire for instanced loot, and I also understand (and applaud) GGG's insistence of sticking to a very strict vision for their game. FFA loot is designed to make the world feel more competitive and cut-throat, and it obviously does that very well. All that being said, have the "instanced loot" folks ever considered that instanced loot multiplies the amount of loot dropped by however many players are playing in a party? And that maybe the game isn't balanced around those kinds of numbers? And that changing FFA to instanced loot would maybe, kind of, I don't know, break the game? It's something worth considering. Keep calm and carry on. |
