He doesn't believe that. He believes both groups should be treated equally. The real question is why do YOU think hardcore players should be favoured?
I can't speak for someone else but a valid reason would be the this chunk of text from the game overview on the website:
"
We're a small independent team of hardcore gamers based in New Zealand and have created Path of Exile as the game that we'd want to play ourselves.

Opinion noted and no one gave a fuck
I should revise my above post to say three fanboys. At any rate, you'll care when the game shuts down sue to a lack of funding due to a lack of interest in anything cosmetic when none plays in groups anymore.
LOL ok bud I'm just one person but many like me.
I spent $15 in closed for supporter. Got on a payment plan to upgrade to gold before the end of CB. Then I just spent another $10 because I wanted more stuff while I wait to finish out my gold payment plan.
Yeah games really going to close...
The cost to run the game will have increased massively since CB. Or do you think they are still using the same hardware and the same number of people to maintain it?
Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.

Yes, it is that topic again. Why? Because it is a big issue and unless devs take a side here on forums, those topics will pop up again and again.
And again.
FFA loot equals single player for quite a few players. People generally don't pay for cosmetic upgrades in SP games. Sure, few might just for short visits in town, but most won't. FFA = SP = less income. If that's your business model, it's fine with me. I'm still playing Diablo 2 from time to time, always SP. Self-found 2 SoJs and full Tal-Rasha among other things. Am I going to play PoE? Sure, it looks like a lot of fun. Am I ever going to party with anyone or pay for visual upgrades? Hell no. FFA means you're basically giving your game away for free without any chance of earning single penny from players like me. And if you browse forums you'll see that camp "FFA = SP" is quite big. Keep in mind we're not asking for removing FFA entirely, we're asking for options. There's HUGE difference. If you believe that dozens of solo players fit Wreaclast's theme (and your business model) better than few groups of happy players, that's fine. It's your game after all. I just don't see how it's making it better.
Long story short: FFA won't stop me from playing PoE, but it sure as hell stops me from spending a single dime on it. And I'm not the only one with that attitude.
Your feedback has been noted. Thank you. :)
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.
