Has GGG given official word on if they'll fix desync?

Since this game sucks so bad, can you please quit and give me your gear and currency? It's a win-win. You win because you don't have to play this shitty game and I win because I get your gear because I like this game.

Source please, there's multiple gateways but one server. One server that might be made up of several smaller ones, but there's still just the one server. How else would you be able to whisper every connected player?
How else could the *entire* game fail because of one mistake?

Unlike an MMORPG, Path of Exile will not partition players onto separate servers where they can’t really interact. We do use multiple servers of course, which are spread out around the world

Statement comes from an interviewed ggg member.

Dunno why people are so upset about this. Every good game in the last 10 years has had desync issues for the first few months after release. Some of it is due to implementation (which can be fixed) and some of it is due to popularity (I.e., the servers are getting hammered), which can also be fixed.

Give them some time. If it's not fixed in a few more months then I'd start worrying.

Think back to WoW at release. For the first year the desync and latency was beyond terrible. They eventually got it sorted out. A lot of their problem was due to server load, and the good news is that rapidly scaling out is much easier in 2014 than it was in 2004 thanks to widespread use of virtualization.

The amount of "Desync Apologists" is pathetic...

No wonder this game is in it's sorry state...

They cater to people like you guys...

You "special" people are basically funding their game, if you looked at their numbers...

You guys buying their ridiculously priced "Titles" and MicroT crap...

GGG in all it's idiotic wisdom has deemed that catering to these E-Dressup Fanatics is more important than making a solid game...

That's why this game is in it's pathetic state...

They realized 3+ years ago, who they wanted to cater too... And that was the kids who didn't give a crap about the game, but cared more about Forum Titles and Pretty Pants.

I bet everyone one of these Desync Apologists has dropped thousands upon thousands of dollars on The Sims 3 furniture.

Pathetic...

Who needs an ARPG... When the main source of income for GGG is the Dressup Brigade and Rainbow Forum Title Crowd.

You know why they're Desync Apologists... Because Desync doesn't affect them. They don't even play the game, hard to be affected by desync when all you do is sit in town putting on E-Clothes or spending 24/7 on the forums Fapping over their colored names.

I love you stink <3

But actually, GGG has taken the "we had a plan and we are sticking to it" approach.
Even if their plan was beyond awful. Just makes them look like amateur devs.

Quick, explain to him how someone who cant write code to save his life needs to make 6 figures to feed his family (one kiwi and a snake that sometimes wanders into his shoe at night)

Oh hey, it's another person expecting GGG to fix stuff that is partially unfixable...

Furthermore, it's also a person who thinks that overhauling the code GGG has spent *years* creating will be a quick process.

Damn GGG and their "ocean" sized problem to cross to get to a fix. Still, crossing the Pacific Ocean is doable in under a year (even Magellan's crew did it).
But more to the OPs question, there is never going to be a time in the near (months) or distant future (years) where desync will be gone. The PoE custom game engine, while remarkable in the fact that it was created by only a couple of programmers, is seriously and forever flawed and after all the other threads and posts on this sore topic the conclusion is that desync is the norm for PoE. GGG can forever state that they have ideas on reducing desync and that they are trying this or that technique to reduce desync but the truth of the matter is that PoE will always be a game full of desync.

The word on desync was best said by the Gembling Queen. Forevermore. I hate forevermore!
"You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat:

As a Rainbow Forum Title Crowd (this term is awesome) member I just assume that desync fix is like Half Life 3 - will come when it's done. I believe that there are just too many factors that can influence the "release date" and attempting to ballpark when will the ultimate solution come would be ridiculous. And yes, desync affects me like nothing else, 90% of my deaths are courtesy of them boxes or me suddenly being where I never planned to be. I usually ragequit in such situations but say nothing on the forums - the issue is so legendary at this point that yet another thread changes nothing.
Be ready. You're not paranoid, you're PREPARED.

I quit this game every few months and so should you to continue playing it in the future.

The device is believed to have been dropped

...Yeah? It's a free game. Of course it's funded by the people buying packs and microtransactions. No one else is giving GGG any money.

Desync sucks and I eagerly await the day that we get some big improvements to it, but in the meantime I'm still going to play because PoE is fun with or without it.

Desync is here to stay. You mad bro?
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
Why so mad Stink? :D

I suppose it's beyond your comprehension to understand that they need funding in order to be able to tackle problems like desync?

You can't tell them, "I'll give you guys $1000. But you have to fix desync before I do."

If everyone interested in PoE thought the way you do, there'd be no game at all. Use your head and THINK.
