Has GGG given official word on if they'll fix desync?

" Unlike an MMORPG, Path of Exile will not partition players onto separate servers where they can’t really interact. We do use multiple servers of course, which are spread out around the world Statement comes from an interviewed ggg member. Dunno why people are so upset about this. Every good game in the last 10 years has had desync issues for the first few months after release. Some of it is due to implementation (which can be fixed) and some of it is due to popularity (I.e., the servers are getting hammered), which can also be fixed.
Give them some time. If it's not fixed in a few more months then I'd start worrying. Think back to WoW at release. For the first year the desync and latency was beyond terrible. They eventually got it sorted out. A lot of their problem was due to server load, and the good news is that rapidly scaling out is much easier in 2014 than it was in 2004 thanks to widespread use of virtualization. |

" I love you stink <3 But actually, GGG has taken the "we had a plan and we are sticking to it" approach. Even if their plan was beyond awful. Just makes them look like amateur devs. "just for try, for see and for know"

" Damn GGG and their "ocean" sized problem to cross to get to a fix. Still, crossing the Pacific Ocean is doable in under a year (even Magellan's crew did it). But more to the OPs question, there is never going to be a time in the near (months) or distant future (years) where desync will be gone. The PoE custom game engine, while remarkable in the fact that it was created by only a couple of programmers, is seriously and forever flawed and after all the other threads and posts on this sore topic the conclusion is that desync is the norm for PoE. GGG can forever state that they have ideas on reducing desync and that they are trying this or that technique to reduce desync but the truth of the matter is that PoE will always be a game full of desync. The word on desync was best said by the Gembling Queen. Forevermore. I hate forevermore! "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2247070 |

As a Rainbow Forum Title Crowd (this term is awesome) member I just assume that desync fix is like Half Life 3 - will come when it's done. I believe that there are just too many factors that can influence the "release date" and attempting to ballpark when will the ultimate solution come would be ridiculous. And yes, desync affects me like nothing else, 90% of my deaths are courtesy of them boxes or me suddenly being where I never planned to be. I usually ragequit in such situations but say nothing on the forums - the issue is so legendary at this point that yet another thread changes nothing.
Be ready. You're not paranoid, you're PREPARED.
I quit this game every few months and so should you to continue playing it in the future. The device is believed to have been dropped |

" ...Yeah? It's a free game. Of course it's funded by the people buying packs and microtransactions. No one else is giving GGG any money. Desync sucks and I eagerly await the day that we get some big improvements to it, but in the meantime I'm still going to play because PoE is fun with or without it. |

" Desync is here to stay. You mad bro? GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Why so mad Stink? :D
I suppose it's beyond your comprehension to understand that they need funding in order to be able to tackle problems like desync? You can't tell them, "I'll give you guys $1000. But you have to fix desync before I do." If everyone interested in PoE thought the way you do, there'd be no game at all. Use your head and THINK. |
