Has GGG given official word on if they'll fix desync?

Some people wouldn't be a problem, you think?

Did you even play Diablo 1 or 2 online? Seriously?

It doesn't take 'everyone' hacking the game to fuck it up. Just one person.

Call him Bobba Fett, if you want.

After that, it's a matter of everyone else using the Bobba Fett hack and the game's integrity is dead in the water as far as the devs are concerned.

Ahhh, that takes me back.

Some of us didn't trade, compete for ladder places,PvP or party unless with friends/clan that held the same values.

Bobba Fetts' little bag of tricks didn't blight D1&2s' integrity for us.

The black wall of latency however, well that's another story. You shall not pass ! =P

It's hilarious since somebody hacking D2 was using this nick....

And FYI the PoE cheats are there since CB and without a memory scanner or cheap tricks there is no integrity in PoE.

No desync ever

You are right.. they dont have a desync.. instead they have a fixed delay. Which is 0.2 secs or something.

Desync fix.

Hence why i play the best moba ever:D Hon ofc.. you know it.

Oh.. So this is about integrity. GGG is just trailblazing the way for ethical ARPGs? Do you even listen to yourself? GGG would would break every promise they've ever made if it would get them the popularity, success, and money that D2 received even with the poor widdle busted economy.

I don't give a fuck if you wanna hack the game. If that's fun for you go for it. It won't affect my experience one iota, just like it didn't matter to me in D2. Do you guys even play games for fun? Or is just about who's got the bigger e-peen they can link to on a forum?

Just because GGG doesn't know how to fix it doesn't mean it can't be fixed. It just means they don't know how to fix it.

Or maybe you should go learn what the F desync is before claiming that it CAN be fixed. Jesus christ, does anyone here that is complaining about desync actually understand what it is?

You have your game client talking to the main server, the game can be thought of as a simulation. Because of the finite value of the speed of light - amongst other delays - they cannot communicate the constantly changing parameters of the simulation instantaneously.

This causes discrepancies (they don't agree with each other) on the actual current parameters of the game. There are two options now:

1) Trust the user (your game client)

This is a fundamental approach that GGG does not want to take because of the possibility of someone cheating / hacking. Since the game is economy-driven, they do not want the possibility of hacks / cheats propagating through the system.

2) Trust the main server (GGG)

This is the one they go with. This means that what *YOU* see may be different from what is *ACTUALLY* happening. This is the phenomena you know as desync (Your game is synchronized, or not synchronized) with the server.

--------------------------------------

Other games will remove mechanics that make the effect of desync more noticeable, basically by removing uncertainty. This makes it much easier to predict what is actually happening and keep everything synchronized.

Some other games will add a time lag to everything.

--------------------------------------

Again, GGG does not want to do either of these things, as they each have their own disadvantages associated and they do not mesh well with GGGs view of the game. Hence, it cannot be fixed.

I dont think this is true at all. If GGG was doing anything out of greed then we would be playing an entirely different game. You can never take that away from GGG, they arent in it for the money.

Instead, call them ignorant and stubborn. Chris thinks hes right, and he wont back down. Now we have this clusterfuck. I think it is one of the major drawbacks of being an amateur developer, a bit of tunnel vision maybe?

As far as integrity is concerned, half the competitive players RMTing threw that out the window a long time ago.

I had 3 cash offers on a 6L I recently sold, 2 of which were actually made on the forums. Reported all of them, those same players are still here, wondering if that chest is still for sale. lul. Got a cool 58 ex for it though.
"just for try, for see and for know"
I wanted to create another QQ thread about desync, but OP already did it. I'm tired of dying because of desync. Today I decided that I can't take it anymore. Just have uninstalled the game. Call me when desync is fixed. BB, have fun!

Given I know they've had such chances several times to compromise their vision for a lot of money and have not, I can't take you seriously. Sorry.

Fireworks.

Can't take you, or GGG, seriously. Sorry.

Well then, thank god people like you arnt in charge.

I will live with dsync if it keeps the hackers and dupers away.

games are more fun if theyre competitive. games like this are fun and interesting because of the economy, hacking/duping would destroy that.

and ggg says they are hardcore gamers.
"fun" carebear mentality can go fuck itself.
