Has GGG given official word on if they'll fix desync?

I'm genuinely not sure this is a cake you can both have and eat.

You can definitely bake and eat this cake, the following results may not be pleasant however. lol
I've read this forum probably 2 times in a few months (posted once .. I think..) and gawd damn I get bored at work and decide to see what you ladies are posting about now over here and it's the sameeee old shit. Lmao. It never get's old to you guys I guess.

You can expect my next cameo in a couple months. Maybe. Depends if I ever get bored enough again - I saw this and the other topic about some guy asking if he should return. Comments are priceless, same as always. Keep it up bros.. ciao ;)
GGG doesn't really like to give official word on any of the pressing issues that flood the forums. The best you get is an ambivalent reply from one dev or a link to a statement made a couple years ago.

Pretty disappointing communication really.

And that right there is the problem. They admitted that it was an arvhitecture issue, so it's pretty damn impossible that they can't foresee these rhings happening. In their desire to make dodging and movement an integral part of defense, they made dodging and movement damn near impossible. I play mostly melee toons, and the desync is pretty damn noticeable. Sure, I play around it, but that's not an excuse to turn a blind eye on what is a fundamental problem.
To wrap up:

1.) Desync cant be fixed. GGG chose an architecture and they need to stick to it. Moreover getting IT professionals into New Zealand seem more difficult than getting them into North Korea. The problem will stagnate.

2.) The narrow passages, doorways and all the crappy clutter will stay, because of "atmosphere". Even tho its a major source of player & mob desync. Related to point 3.)

3.) Mob AI is dumb as wood. It cant fit 5 monsters through a doorway in an orderly fashion, without desyncing them. But that apparently too doesn't need any improvements.

Considering GGG is unwilling (& unable) to improve any of these components, it looks like desync is a feature. Maybe a feature designed to combat botting. It would go in line with some other features that are anti-bot oriented, instead of pro-player.

Would it be too much to ask for an advanced client option to automatically /oos on a set interval?

I don't want to have to rely on the /oos chat command repeatedly just to see what's actually happening around me, some people are happy with smooth looking lies, but I want the laggy truth.

Of course in order to add something like that, GGG would have to imply that they were aware desync is a big problem which it seems they don't want to do at any cost.

Spamming oos too much will make the game lag for everyone else. See? Architecture problem.
Desync is actually a fundamental property of space and time, all games have it, it's how they choose to deal with it which makes it a problem.

POE choose to trust the client less than others, cuz clients can be modified.

Go read the thread about the graphics programmer they hired who increased engine performance by 50% in three months. Just because GGG doesn't know how to fix it doesn't mean it can't be fixed. It just means they don't know how to fix it.

Some people may try hacking the game, so lets give everyone unfixable, annoying, and frustrating connectivity issues instead. Awesome!

Great please link to that because I'm 99% sure they never said anything remotely like that.

A completely different thing, that is in fact quite normal for games to be made with a "bad" graphics engine for much of it's development. I suppose it's intentional since that's not a priority at that point (as I recall the original Guild Wars was developed that way).
Nothing to see here.
