So frustrating that the same mistake is repeated in every D2 clone

Just look at the prices of marijuana in Colorado to see that in a real world economy.

I'll see what I can do about the prices of marijuana in Colorado. Right now I have 43.000 tons lying around in my garage, that should be enough for a week or two.

I've also heard of plans of putting Colorado under a giant glassdome and making a marijuana greenhouse out of it. But Obama still has to agree, he's always so whingy ("But I can't do that!!!" - "Yes, you can, dumbass.") so that might take a while.

We'll keep in touch.

You will PM a mod about what? I have already reported you for harassing and spreading false information about me. Your next probation will probably and hopefully be longer than one week, if not permanent.

I wonder what would happen if PoE had 50% better drop rates at high levels? We'll see how well that works for Blizzard when RoS comes out. Blizzard got royally roasted in the forums in 2012 (wow! was that an inferno flame war or what?) for lack of quality loot in Inferno level and then some.

The problem with D3 at release (I only played the first month) wasn't so much that there was no quality loot in inferno, but:

a) Random encounters were ridiculously over-tuned to a point where it wasn't fun. Kiting several screens for one pack wasn't fun and had nothing to do with difficulty. There were no actual strategies that would have allowed for a different way of playing. Act 2/Inferno was even worse. The act bosses were all easy, but the champion packs were silly. The way people beat act 2 was to die their way to waypoints. In HC, people exploited the golden chest bug to the fullest (both in that little house at the beginning of act 1 and the house in the oasis in act 2).

b) Act4/hell didn't drop the loot you needed for act1/inferno, and act1/inferno (which was do-able at least if you skipped packs) simply didn't drop loot that you needed for act2. It wasn't quality, it was that drops were like in hell, and inferno required extreme gear in act2 (act4 was comparatively easy). So in order to progress, you had to buy stuff from exploiters, which wasn't fun. In PoE, I could finish the entire game without really having to trade, in D3 I made it to act2/inferno and the game was over.

I never hit a wall like that in PoE. PoE does drop loot that you need to progress (I'm not necessarily talking higher level maps, just finishing the game). Crafting needs help, no doubt, and some stuff is over-tuned (merciless Dominus when you get there by playing normally, though that's partly because of the poorly optimized effects in that area), but overall the game's loot curve is much more consistent than in D3.

As for more loot making the game more fun ... maybe, maybe not. It makes the game over faster, for sure. TL2 had too much loot to the point where I felt overwhelmed and that wasn't fun, same as TL1. Titan Quest was better designed in that way (as were Sacred and Sacred 2), but after grinding the end boss in the highest difficulty for a week, I was done with the game. Nothing left to do. Titan Quest somehow lacked "pull", that excitement when you found stuff. PoE does that better, but it's a direct result of top loot being relatively sparse.

Some people in this thread remind me of kids staring through the windows of a candy store, wishing they could have all that's inside, imagining how that would be heaven. If they got their wish, they'd get sick and puke all over the place.

The issue the game has is crafting. All the nice food is in a vendoring machine that takes $1 for every time you try to get a burger, and that instead gives you a horse turd nearly every time. So you not only stay hungry, but also go broke in your futile attempts to fill your belly.
There is no denying that this game has a serious problem with the drop rates, only the rich from flipping/ripping people off/lotto winners/no lifers disagree. They want low drop rates so people are forced to buy there items. IMO any arpg loot hunt game designed around a economy/stopping RMt is going to fail, think about it. Its designed so the bots get less loot, the BOTS.

What does that do to the normal player......This game is distend to fail. I check back from time to time and every time I do more and more topics about the same issues I raised months ago. GGG stills hasnt addressed the issues, but everyone go to the micro shop Im sure there are shiny new items each week.
Put on a bunch of crappy IIR/IIQ gear and do Merciless Merveil runs. It takes like 2 minutes to do, and I was getting a unique about every other run.

He complained about not getting any uniques. Didn't specify that they needed to be the rarest in the game and I didn't either.

I did pick up some nice ones though. Got a pair of Searing Touches which I've put to good use.

Who cares what the rarity of it is if it's garbage. If I got 5 garbage uniques per hour I'd still say what I said. Talk about out of context...
The drops suck, and you're forced into trading.
