Rift Between Player Types

i have one point to make and ill leave...

"offers not worth the sellers TIME" is the most unbelievable load of crap i have ever heard in my life. this is a free game and you are playing a GAME during your FREE TIME.

sellers who are rude, get over yourself and your gear for sale and communicate like a normal and respectful person if you are going to deal with numerous people on a regular basis.

nuff said.

They aren't thinking "Let me keep everyone else from becoming rich!".

Of course they are since wealth = progression in PoE, the best way to dominate the top-ladder is by making sure all other players cannot attain wealth, or claim anything they posses that might result in more wealth.

(the fact that you think they don't do this purposely means they are just doing a good job lol :D, believe me traders from certain top-ladder groups now exactly what they are doing )

You cannot keep a player from "becoming" wealthy in PoE.

All it takes is 1 drop.

I get that 1 drop almost once every season.

I dont really see a problem here. If i see an item i want i just post what i want to give for it. If i see a six link item and its worth 1 alch to me i offer one alch, but then i am not suprised if i get no response at all. (this example is of course way over the top, but i dont get how people get scammed)

If you buy something for more that its usually going fore you still didnt make a bad trade. If you want that thing and are willing to spent this much currency on it its fine i think.

The only real thing i could see is when you start fresh, have a lucky drop of an exalted on the beach and then somebody offers you a wanderlust for it. And thats just because at this point you couldnt know that exalteds are rare. But even then you make a fine trade because at this moment you wanted the wanderlust more than the exalted orb (and to be honest at the beginning the unique is even more usefull than the exalted orb).

if prices for 6 links go up and you dont want to pay that much, you just buy fusings and link them yourself. If prices are cheaper than linking it yourself they are fine.

The currency system builds certain bounderys and a maximum price, that can never be exceeded (unlike gold in other games).

You want a koams... they cost 50000 exalteds now? Buy chance orbs and scouerings and chance force the thing.

Of course you can. You buy his item from him for what he perceives to be wealth and then flip it for more value. Increasing your own wealth and dropping him back in wealth.

It's what end-game is all about yo!

+1 for self-found league yo.

It'll happen sooner or later. People who need to purchase their way to the finish line won't be interested, but for those of us who actually play this game, we'll feel at home.
That is why my shop is set the way it is. I try to keep my B/Os low and fair and if someone offers me a price, as long as it isn't like "5c for a 2ex item" I will usually accept. Especially if I see that they look new. I sold a couple of really nice 5L chests for 3-5c apiece to some players who didn't have much. I'm not rich and I find moving my items with speed is better than finding the top, top possible value for them.

As far as I've been able to tell in years of playing games like this, there is only one rift between players.

Those who understand how to barter and haggle and those who don't.
Personally for me trading is fine in poe. While ago I wanted to buy an axium belt I offered 13 ex and guy wanted 15 so I said no. There is no point to deal with people who do not want to sell the items and are very stubborn. Similar situation was when I wanted to buy 6L armor. Some sellers were very stubborn and prices were insane. You can tell how bad or good seller is by date when he posted the item on forum. However I managed to buy 6L item for pretty good price. Moral of my story is that some people just do not want to sell their items but there are many people who want to sell their items.

Speaking about maps some people complain that is impossible to run high lv maps. I read manny guides and all of them are shit. From my personal experience I can tell every player should run maps as high as his character can run. One simple rule use chisels on high lv maps and you never run out off high lv maps.
Speaking about chisels farm stone hammers in normal FS area and farm piety to get 66 lv maps if you do not want to buy chisels.
In my opinion all great wealth comes from high LV maps. One and most important thing is that your character must be strong enough to do them and run 80% or even more map modes.
