D3 vs Poe: Which has worse itemization?

So you are greedy and the players cheap and thats why it sucks? Damn ^^

ps: it depends on your league too how the prizes are.
Why you should try Harcore http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/209310/page/1

The thing is, it's can be hard sell 1 chaos stuff, hence not always worth to waste your time. And also you need to consider how much space your stash can take items. Usually demands is higher when it's about trading stuff, nothing strange about it.

I think the itemisation is bad because you can't sell 99,9% of drops for more then 5-10 chaos. Not about the item might be useful for you, but how much it's worth to keep.

It can take many days or months before you are able to stock a few ex in order to buy anything good or craft (expensive as fuck). Not surprising if you never will get there, depending your demand in endgame.

So yeah itemisation is bad. I classify 5+ chaos stuff as mid drop at best, still game makes it extremely rare.

Ok if it's 2+ ex stuff, so they should be rare. But what about lower class items? These are crazy rare too. Just make like 100 boss runs and you will realize this, for sure.

Happens me a lot during 100 kills I haven't been able to find more worth stuff. Everything to vendor.

Okay stop... Seriously stop...
Think for a moment about how long it takes you to drop 5 chaos in this game. That time period is EXACTLY how long it takes to find an item worth 5 chaos. Why is this?

Because the players set the economy. We aren't going to pay 5 chaos for something we can find in the time it takes to find 1 chaos.

It has nothing to do with itemization. NOTHING!

It's hard to sell one chaos stuff because it only takes me 5-10 minutes to farm a chaos. Why should I buy something I can find in a few minutes of playing?

If you think it's fun to kill same boss hundreds times without getting anywhere, so fine.

Or you could run maps?

It's either boss or maps. From my experience it's better to chain kill dominus compared with map. Heck even City of Sarn runs gives more in the total time spent.

I can't get experience from Dominus runs anymore.

Yeah some players play to lvl, some will stop at certain lvl. Maps definitely is better for lvling.

That's what loot grinders are all about.

Interesting gear drops all the time, if you don't understand why its interesting gear maybe you dont know enough about different builds.

PoE has the best itemisation of any arpg, because it has the most in depth and varied mechanics of any arpg for the item stats to interact with. The gear drops are fine, if you think the gear you find is bad and you cant compete the game and start mapping self found the problem is more likely you. Your build sucks, you dont understand how to use what youve found, your skill gems arnt right, something you have done is wrong. Its not bad itemisation, its not bad drop rates which is another thing entirely.

All this shopping vs finding stuff, ok time for some real talk and some of you arnt going to like this. Because this game has a large variety of builds, stats and mechanics the variety of gear is going to be huge. A result of the fact this game has GOOD itemisation is that 95% of the items you find are not going to be good for YOUR BUILD, theyre going to be good for someone elses. Everyone is in this position, so yes more than likely you find someone elses ideal gear and they find yours and you trade with each other.

This isnt D3, this isnt the people who find their gear and grind vs the credit card warriors who sign in on day 1 and legitimately RMT billions of gold to buy top class gear. RMT is cheating in this game, and cheats aside trading gear you found while grinding is every bit as legitimate a way to get your gear as finding the bits directly. I prefer to find the bits directly, we all do, but unless you want a game with shit build diversity and shit gear diversity or drop rates so huge that within a month you find everything in the game then most of the gear you will find will be for other builds and to find all the gear you want by yourself will take a long time. Its either that or have a short, shallow, shit game.

Going self found extends the experience, it makes the game take longer, and the serious self found people out there do what they do BECAUSE of this, they dont cry about it. Anuhart is self found, his gear is crap right? No his gear is as good as my gear despite me trading and playing for over 3000 hours. How come? Hes played over 5000 hours, he has no gear problems. Orb problems yes, and this directly related to the mapping currency sink which is nothing to do with itemisation and everything to do with currency drop rates. Self found players get shit on when it comes to orbs, when it comes to gear they are getting what they are after, a prolonged game experience and character progression.

Its a long game guys, theres a long character and gear progression, theres a long endgame access progression. Its not a Dragon Age style install it on friday and youve done everything, have everything by monday morning sort of game. I know some of you log on a few times and week and grind very inefficiently for a few hours at a time and you feel like crap because you dont seem to find anything. I know how that feels, Im not saying you are wrong for feeling a bit down about it but thats the sort of game it is. Its hard, unforgiving, complicated, long, but thats what makes it so rewarding long term.

You got to accept that when you compare the gear you have to that of a 5000 hour player, its not going to be anywhere near as good as his. Thats a result of this game having 5000 hours + of continuous progression. But if the gear you are finding it not beating content I suggest that you need to look at the skill tree, your skills, your play style, this games depth goes beyond its items and if you cant take on content self found it means you are doing something else wrong. People start new leagues and theyre grinding into the 70s in act3 merciless on day 1, from nothing. They could do it every day because they know the game, they have the knowledge of how to use the items in conjunction with the other factors. Play the game, try different builds, increase your game knowledge and I think you'll find the 'itemisation' problems you are having will mostly disappear without the items actually changing. Its not a D3 'equip 10 billion gold of AH gear, pick 6 skills from a guide, mash keys and you win' game. Watch streamers race, watch them map, get that understanding you need.
