D3 vs Poe: Which has worse itemization?

Both fail in riding that fine line between easy and overly cruel. Loot should be rewarding and I D3's Loot 2.0 is overly so while PoE is needlessly harsh. That fine line that is rewarding loot is very hard to get. One step on either side and things just don't feel right.

I like how most comparisons between PoE and D3 aren't about which is better, but which is less crappy.

According to forum mods "sandwich" is considered an offensive word. Who knew?
POE is D3 with a better skill tree, everything else is just as bad or worse than D3

D3 has more polish, better gameplay, and smoother combat.

PoE has better skill depth, build diversity, and overall replayability.

Both have pretty bad itemization in the long run, just way you get there is different. However with eternals, mirrors, and 3rd party search engines PoE is catching up FAST.

Worse than D3, much worse. Rng is fine, but PoE Rng is a realy bad joke. PLaying doesnt feel rewarding at all. That shold be like rule Nr 1. If you ivest your time in a game, you want to see some kind of reward/advance for putting much time into the game. In PoE Rng/broken crafting/beyond worse loot and no trading system fcks you over all day.
Cant believe a game in 2014 doesnt understand the most important things to have in a good game<.<
Pretty disappointed with GGG, realy thought they were a bit diffrent. But in the end just the same crap like always....
ive done atleast 5000 maps, 4000+ solo and ive never seen a soultaker, shavrone, kaom, or mirror drop.

RNG in this game is way to strong, who wants a game where you can farm for a lifetime and not get the best items, but some random noob kill 1 zombie on normal and gets it.

this game lacks of daily quests, and some sort of "component" that take the roll of this terrible RNG and give the player the choice of upgrading.

ive seen many games that had a kill counter, and when you reach lets say 10k kills, yay u click an icon get an exalted and it resets.

Want the best unique chest slot in the game? k you have to win 100 pvp matches, do 10 of each map in the game, then add 10 of each currency ... Huehuehue NO lets just keep it RNG its more fun that way

Once you accept that someone will always have better gear than you, it's not so bad.
People that claim they can't get any good gear ever are either playing self found, in which case that's their own choice, or they are doing something seriously wrong.
I have only had one exalted orb drop in domination league, and not a single unique worth more than an ex, yet somehow I have plenty of decent gear. Not epic gear, but good enough.

Someone looks at someone elses 900dps 2H weapon and goes "fuck this game I can't find better than 600 dps. Another guy looks at that 600dps 2H and goes "fuck this game I can't find better than 400dps".

Look it up. This is no joke.
This is also a methodology that many MMO companies employ to addict gamers. Again, no joke.

This is very serious stuff that gaming companies have employed psychologists etc to draft up, and make their games as addicting as possible.

At least with RNG there is no pressure.


I think more the problem, is that there are essentially four items that everyone wants, and everyone is pissed off because they don't have these four items. Four was an example, but it's not very many whatever the true number.

I want to make it clear that good ITEMIZATION (the quality of the items to make interesting builds as well as interesting loot drops with a variety of viable items)

Has nothing to do with actually obtaining said items (drop rates)

Soul taker, kaom, rift, shav ect all are very good item designs, being very rare has nothing to do with the game having "bad itemization."

Compared to D3, D3 itemization is horrid with PoE only a few steps ahead with it.
