D3 vs Poe: Which has worse itemization?
Sadly both games have bad itemization but POE have better some unique affixes Diablo have better rare rolls
for example this let you play meele with no weapon but then you find out that you can use only 1 skill Infernal blow because other desync too much . On ther side Diablo have better rare items rare items can actually roll better as uniques and you can't use 2x unique at once in D3 so unique is actually unique Because uniques are very small part of drop and rares drop all time D3 wins in itemization fight , also in combat because there is no desync you can smoothly whirlwind with 1000/second attacks and 80% mov speed BUT D3 losse in character customization that could or could not be repaired in Soul taker Of reaper /or whatever it is called not gonna buy datadisc for price of full game Fact that all players except some crit dagger users aim for same gear just like in D3 kills itemization You can't roll gloves that can compare with

" Thank you. So I think PoE's itemization is far better, mainly for two things. Firstly, GGG chose to keep things like weapon range in the game. In addition to desync :), it adds wrinkles of complexity that aren't in D3, where a knife, a sword, a fist, a polearm, all have the same range. The other is that uniques are largely not "LEGENDARY." They're unique items that offer a powerful ability (usually) for a trade off that you can build around. They make things interesting. |

" I think they're mostly pretty bad item designs, which is why people want them instead of good rares. If you want to talk about truly "good design" in PoE, consider items like Many lewt.
Much desync. Such rewarding. Wow. According to forum mods "sandwich" is considered an offensive word. Who knew? |

" While i'd like to have three of these items, i'm fine with not having them. I played D2 extensively and learned back than that RNGesus hates my guts. I coped with it. However, back in my D2 days I knew that I could afford an almost top tier char with farming. Maybe it took me 2, 3 or even 4 weeks of farming to get the item set I wanted/I could reallistically afford, but I eventually got there. With PoE it's different. Every thing that seems fun - fun, not BiS - costs 10+ ex ~ 875+ fusings (domination ratios). I just can't farm that long for one item. Hiding build enabeling or just cool uniques behind layers of RNG (drops and high lvl maps) and arbitrarity (for example The Taming...) feels really like a slap in the face, considering that one of the most fun points about playing arpgs is looting... This was just about uniques...don't get me started about rares or - god fobrid - 'crafting'. The itemization sucks, and although in my opinion this game has quite a few problems, itemization is the only reason I don't know if I keep playing once my current (= first) char reaches the goal I set myself (= lvl 82) - right now I'm at 81 + 70% and feel kind of burnt out. " I think both of those and above are very good "itemization" wise because they are interesting items that you can create builds out of or plan characters around or so on. People are saying the game is bad because SOME high end items are out of their reach so therefore = bad itemization. What about all of the other cheap items that are also interesting? Let me put it in another way? Is all of the rare items suddenly are common and those 2 items are swapped in rarity? Is the game now good itemization instead of bad? Or were the items always interesting and good but just hard to get. Item PROGRESSION is a whole different topic, there is an extreme lack of mid range items for people to take advantage of. At first 4 uniques a patch seemed good, but we need like 10 uniques per patch to be able to improve the itemization problem. We also need new mods for magic and rare gear to be realeased periodically. Like 2 new mods per patch. Something for people to aim for.
My characters can't get any upgrades anymore. Not really anyway. I mean I already have maxed resists so what else am I looking for on my character? The only thing left is Kaom's and Shavronne's and stuff like that which will never drop for me. So, I think itemization is really holding this game back. |

" Neither do I personally, but this is the general consensus of the forum-kind I would conclude, whether you or I think this way, doesn't hold much sway to the larger masses that DO think this way. Look at the sheer amount of builds that plan out having the Shavronne one for example. To combat this, I think we need more unique items of this caliber is all, and this is not because this unique is the best, it can be out-done, but because finding unique items that are good is fun and exciting to the ARPG crowd. Aside it's CI usage, Shav's is really the only high-end usable (unique) ES torso piece in the game. That is where I think the problem lies. Not so much in the drop rate. If there were say 5-10 different ones, including this item, that were as 'usable' as a Shavronne, the complaints would be a lot less. |

" What? If you use Shav's with CI you fail pretty bloody hard. Many lewt.

" You misunderstood. Sorry. It's CI usage = you get free CI with it, thus enabling low life, all that jazz. Point stands. |
