Dota2 is used with Steam if i remember correctly, so yes that uses the steam wallet. This is a game produced/published by GGG. Dota 2 is published by Valve (Steam) they have different systems. If you're gonna argue over the fact that every other game uses a different system then i'm done argueing...

You're the one that compared this to other games, not me. So.. you brought it upon yourself.

Zinger86, it's not a matter of 40 cents. It's a matter of $4.50 actually, if you want to buy something worth 50 points. If you read through the thread, you'll understand why that is so.

That arguement would make sense if we could purchase 40 cents worth of points, but, we can't.
Not remotely surprised that after going on about "ethical microtransactions", they are doing the exact same greedy BS every other F2P game does. As is always the case, literlaly every single time, they will make significantly less money then they would have if they weren't being so pathetically greedy.

Note that me saying they are being greedy in no way shape or form means that I don't think they deserve to make money.

There is nothing "ethical" about this cash shop.

Yup, I swear all these trolls responding and defending this horrible point allocation at the 5 and 10 dollar levels are incapable of basic math.

Well, it's like I implied earlier, this scam is very effective when your customers don't value their money. Which means this scam shouldn't be applied to a FREE TO PLAY GAME. You know, the kind of game people play to gain VALUE for their MONEY.

It's not very smart to try to scam people that appreciate value.

I think I have being tolerant (to a limited extent) of the various penny-pinching trolls, but apprently you have pushed me over the edge. Your apparent gripe is not with the price of items, but rather the point allocation, that being that the $5 pack = 46 points and the $10 = 96 points. Push aside all the other 'optional' arguments, and consider the facts. You are playing a free to play game. FREE. Chris put in a shitload of his own money, worked on it for 5 years without remuneration and you get the fruits of his labour for FREE. But you are complaining about the price change from yesterday to today of 4 points, aka 40 cents. 40 CENTS! Are you fucking kidding me? Not just complaining, but quite emotively calling it a scam, thereby impying GGG and therefore the people that work for it are underhanded and greedy. You have got to be the dumbest, most self-entitled, fuckwit I have ever come across, EVER! do us all a favour, uninstall and then go jump off a cliff, because you are clearly the sort of bogan that contributes nothing, expects to be handed everything, and then complains when what he/she is given is not enough.

And Given that your standard comeback to people who disagree with you seems to be to call people stupid, I will take the time to provide you with my tertiary qualifications:
LLB/LP, Bcom, LLM and a 1/3 of a PhD. Feel free to post yours when the inevitable response comes back.

apparently you are trying to think the same way by presenting your "tertiary qualifications".
No, we don't care much about that.

As a personal opinion, i think Diamond users can stop replying here. Spending $1000 already proved $5 and $10 package is not any issue to you guys.
you can take forever but you will never understand why are we arguing over 40 cents.
why waste the time to make both side angry?
try to give some constructive reply.
like a solution that can please everybody?

I thought somebody just argued by using some "F2P" games?

Doesn't ''f2p'' games fall under ''every other game''?

It's the same as in every other f2p model as stated before. And you can still buy stuff with the $5 and $10 packages, but yes you're losing a bit or have some leftovers but just SAVe the leftovers for later? Does it really hurt THAT bad?

well well, you are the one started it, and you ended it yourselves.
so i hope nobody will bring up this "every other game" BS anymore eh? k?
Thanks for ending 1 of the unrelated argument here.

Haha funny reading all it but, on topic for now.
I can see why people find it weird that they come a bit short and they need to buy another package just for that little bit but how about u buy a pack now SAVE it and buy another pack later? Is saving up really THAT bad nowadays?
@HEISENBERGMAN:

I give u an example, so u understand that u r just a lame whiner:

EXAMPLE:
There is a company offering the game "TENNIS". Everythging is for free for the players: The courts, the rackets, the balls, no maintanence fees, nothing costs anything, they even offer colorful rackets, but now they need a little money to finance all that and offer some more colors to the already existing rackets and thats where YOU start complaining about HOW they price it, rofl!

HOW they are asking for the money is completely up to them and calling it a scam, unethical or underhanded or whatever is a joke. It's called business and they are keeping this necessary evil as far out of the game as possible, yet u complain about something that isn't even NECESSARY TO HAVE and just because YOU WANT IT SO BADLY THAT U ARE ANGRY ABOUT HOW THEY PRICE IT....that's called "whining".
