get a job if you want a shiny sword or helmet.

if you no life and play video games all day then you have a great game for free.

poe's microtransactions are perfect the way they are. no items or currency are sold.

anyone complaining at this point just likes to complain.

At this point, no one is even reading what the complaint is about. Including you.

get a job if you are complaining about paying an extra 40 cents for a completely cosmetic item.

or just play the great game for free.

that better?

And, during CB, the $10 gave u beta key and 100 points, not nothing and "96" points.

This isn't CB, and devs stated that you wouldn't get as much in OB.

And this is mistake... thats why this thread was created.

I found funny that company that throws PR slogans about 'ethical microtransactions" is atm basically forcing to spend extra money by lowering amount of points that you receive in lower packages.

I know that GGG likes only diamonds and 1KUSD tranfers but this is a little too much.

Sorry, just not seeing the logic here.

The argument is not that the items are overpriced. It's that the shop is now setup for you to purchase an awkward amount of points (46, 96, etc), which in a lot of cases, will just be a tad short of what you intend to buy. So the result is that you are forced to overspend much more for what you intend to buy just to cover the number of points you need to buy a certain item.
thread needs killing.there's no point to it any more.

to all you that don't like getting 46 points for $5 all i will say is learn to save your money until you have $10 or $20.

(you get more GGGold that way in case it's not obvious)

Actually, that's not true either. It's just economically smarter to go with the $20 package. Are you seriously telling me GGG is the first business to make certain bulk purchases better value than smaller ones?

Goodness me.

I'm a little confused myself. If the break-even point is $20, which is the price Torchlight 1 was at from memory, and most would agree this game is worth at least that, why not just buy a $20 GGGold pack and get precisely what you paid for, and then call it a day?

And if you want more later, just buy another $20 package later rather than short-changing yourself with smaller packages more frequently.

I dunno, this shift is somewhat surprising. People were begging for a way to get into the closed beta/support and GGG made a nice chunk of cash off that, and that was for a game that didn't have Act 3 at all.

Now that the game is truly free to play, with Act 3, improved graphics and audio, etc etc...people are complaining because the optional stuff is somehow overpriced, be it the GGGold packages or the pets/effects?

Dont think most people are complaining about packs or items being overpriced, although I havent read all 50+ pages so I could be wrong.

I mean cant you see that they are complaining about a weirdly random amount of coins you get for the lower packs? Dont most of the items cost end in a zero? Whats the point of selling a pack with 46 points? Of course its GGGs decision, not gonna argue that, but cant you see where the op is coming from? Even a little?

Precisely the point. Awkward amounts are there EXACTLY to give you incentive to spend that little bit more.

This would be completely unethical if...for the last time...the items being purchased weren't totally optional.

Oh, did I say the last time?

Guess we all know what that means.

I think what people are missing in this thread is that these arent people that are just hating on the game for no reason. They are potential consumers complaining. It's rlly hard to use the games free to play and this is optional arguement when the person wants to support the company, without anyone supporting the company we have an entirely different problem. They are stating there opinion and if GGG wants to listen to it thats there choice, but hating back will do nothing. Its feedback as a consumer to the company. Every market has this kind of thing, and GGG will have to decide. There is nothing wrong with people doing it though.

PS thank you all for contributing to this thread. There is more than enough data and varied feedback here for GGG to sift through and consider their current pricing strategies. :)
