The obvious micro transaction cash grab?

Maybe they should charge you $5 for the game and give you 46 points to spend in the shop.

Would that make all the whiners happy?

It has two sides on it, you've read the bad comments on this thread hehe. The point is that some people find it ''odd'' that if you want something that is priced at 50 coins you need to pay $10 instead of $5. Look i find it odd myself too cause i think how GGG prices their stuff is in their hands but it would be better to update to a system in my other post so everyone could be happy. Everyone has a different perspective and money income. But GGG NEEDS the income from their shop so it does hurt them if they lose potential buyers. But if they change it it is entirely to them. and i agree on you on the supporter packs.

The other side would be:

"Wow, I bought a 5 dollar pack, got 46 points and bought an item for only 20 points. I have 26 more points left over, what a deal!"

When arguing the opposite, this is what it comes out to be. So you can see why the argument over lower costs is absurd.

For those that want shop items so badly that they would complain about such a trivial thing as a 5 or 10 dollar difference, chances are that their want for that item is so bad and they have so little self restraint that eventually they're going to buy more than 20 dollars worth of stuff anyways. Self control is a fun concept.

That's how i look at it too like, i would find it odd if there was a package and you couldn't buy anything with it. But that's not the only point it's also you're losing money buying the lower tier packages and you will be rewarded a bit after the $20 packages.

Or maybe they should just offer points in less-awkward numbers in their packages even if it means adding 50 cents or a full dollar to the package price?

Or maybe you could trying knowing what you're talking about first, eh?

Uhmm.. no. Yesterday the price for the stash tab pack was $15... today it's $20. All that changed was an arbitrary title from "closed" beta to "open" beta

And months of fair warning was given about packages changing once open beta hit, next excuse?
This thread is absolutely
Spoiler
Just Be happy the game is free to play. GGG could of made it like D3 paying the 60 bucks to buy it then charging all this money for cosmetic stuff. Or it could be like wow paying monthly and on top of what they charge for cosmetic things. If you dont like the prices dont buy the expensive stuff not that hard.
get a job if you want a shiny sword or helmet.

if you no life and play video games all day then you have a great game for free.

poe's microtransactions are perfect the way they are. no items or currency are sold.

anyone complaining at this point just likes to complain.
I'm a little confused myself. If the break-even point is $20, which is the price Torchlight 1 was at from memory, and most would agree this game is worth at least that, why not just buy a $20 GGGold pack and get precisely what you paid for, and then call it a day?

And if you want more later, just buy another $20 package later rather than short-changing yourself with smaller packages more frequently.

I dunno, this shift is somewhat surprising. People were begging for a way to get into the closed beta/support and GGG made a nice chunk of cash off that, and that was for a game that didn't have Act 3 at all.

Now that the game is truly free to play, with Act 3, improved graphics and audio, etc etc...people are complaining because the optional stuff is somehow overpriced, be it the GGGold packages or the pets/effects?

Sorry, just not seeing the logic here.

If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.

Again. Being free to play doesn't give you any advantage/excuse to ignore flaws.
and what you been saying is not even related to the topic.

i wanna repeat again.
whoever think we should instead get the $20, and you can't get it because you're poor, etc.
totally proved that you disagreed with the $5 and $10 package too!

christ on a bike... I don't mind the camp that is actually debating against the point being made in the thread, but I wish these kinds of comments would just stop.
