did diablo 2 desynch as badly?

D2 desynced badly if your host was garbage(Like bad comp, bad bandwidth rate, far away, etc).
Else, no it did not. Does that mean D2 was better? I dunno. |

" Search for "path exile maphack" or "bot" on your favorite search engine. For duped items, it might be true, however in the latest versions of D2, I don't think there were so much duping. Haven't tried any program myself though (D2 neither poe), but I have no reason to believe they are fake. Anyway I'm not sure if the absence of dupe (assuming they do not exist) is directly correlated to this. Last edited by Sexygillou#6181 on Nov 19, 2013, 12:41:19 PM

" That's awesome... 98% of the playerbase, who I assume plays legit has to suffer, so you can play "hack free" even though you'd "bot" if given the chance, yet you're against any changes that combat desync because you might "relapse" into botting... Great mentality... Apparently GGG shares this brilliant logic. |

" And how about any reason to believe they are real? Don't you know about all the "hack" for this and that game videos with links in description appearing at the rate of 100 per second on youtube? IGN: Smegacore Last edited by battled#7585 on Nov 19, 2013, 12:47:09 PM

" Because they are real. Its not hard to figure out. I mean, I cant talk too much about it without getting into trouble, but a little google detective work shows that these types of things are actually on what would be considered respected sites for that kind of thing. Just saying. And anyways, I have a story I haven't mentioned. I think me and my buddy accidentally duped a crappy gem. The only thing I can guess is that we were on separate servers, and when he crashed, he didn't save for whatever reason, and we both had the gem again. He gave me a crappy LL gem when we were leveling up that he just got from the quest; he had no other LL gem. As soon as he traded it to me, he crashed, or the server crashed. He logged back on, we started playing some more, and a couple min. or so later he asked me if I had that LL gem because he still had it in his inventory, and yes, I was already using it. Now, this is just some random, stars align, mishap rollback or whatever with servers crashing, but just the fact it happened means there is probably someone out there right now figuring out how to do it, or already doing it. People dont realize the real deal people who do this for a living aren't some small-time basement dwellers just doing it for fun, or scams. These are very knowledgeable people, every bit as knowledgeable as those who make the games, who are paid to sit in a room and figure out how to hack, cheat, and dupe games, and get paid for it like anyone else at their day job. That's just how big the industry is when it comes to RMT. |

" That is an intentional bot protection. @topic: There are so many people in this thread whos posts are just plain wrong. And other people posting out their mistake. (And not feely wrong, but just technical wrong.) Would be great if a mod could delete them all so that there is an actual discussion. (This one included) |

D2 definitely desynched. The reason D3 does less is because they dumbed down the combat mechanics and to a lesser extent probably have better servers. I think weapon range helped D2 melee problems seem less a problem. If your weapon range allows you to hit the monster that appears in front of you but is actually behind another monster server side, you never notice.

My first memory of desync in a video game was in Diablo 2, Arcane Sanctuary. That place is a desync trap.
