D2 and TQ use client as host server IIRC. Of course they have no desync issues (primarily for game hosts).

Oh and avoidamnce mechanics do in fact have an effect on desync, because clinet server need to guess what's going to happen and convey it to the player.

Can you quote specific part? I found accuracy mentioned once in that long post..and it has nothing with issue what we are talking about..

Accuracy is just stat.. nothing more..nothing less..like crit..with just different outcome.. but it's not main issue of desync.

As far as i remember Diablo 2 was full of hackers. As far as i remember Titan Quest was full of hackers.

Havent seen hacker in PoE yet. And they said if they fix the desync, they will most likely change the servers or what ever so it will be very easy for the hackers to actually hack in the game.

Even misses aren't that noticeable. Do you use accuracy gem? Or do you just take RT and ignore the issue completely? Do you actively seek accuracy on your gear? I'd say most people don't consider accuracy to be a core mechanic either.


How do you define core mechanics?


To me core mechanics are much broader: equip-able items, monsters drop those items when killed, character progression by levelling and such.

That's a flawed argument. Correlation does not imply causation.

If you want to look further into the technical part this issue, read the thread which I've referred to in my earlier posts.

Writing /thread without having the greatest, most bulletproof argument known to man is silly.
You didn't desync, but you could also map hack, bot, and dupe items with impunity. I had a pindlebot running every day while I was at school lol.
D2 had offline play so it's basically comparing apples and oranges but defending the huge de-sync problem in this game has to be the stupidest things I've read. It's ruining the game experience and people who like the game and want to play are speaking out for requests only with the intention of getting improvement of the game for everyone.
