For the people who think that it shouldn't be allowed in the default or "softcore" league, I'm sorry but naturally there is no competition in this type of grouping so it doesn't really matter if full respecs are available or not.

Lol. You seem to be one of those people who think HC is actually any harder than SC.

No, because I'm smart. Its not harder. It is however a different league in which the rules make it more competitive.

The point of what I said is that it is in the true spirit of "hardcore" to not have this option avaialable. But for the more "casual", "softcore" players that are going to play default the option would be great for them.

If you want to come at me. Let's dance bro. I will win.

Edited for spelling and gramatical errors since people like ifarmpandas probably think that If i misspell something I am actually not smart.

Should he have to farm for another 3 months to get back to the same level as his current ranger with his new bow?

Yes.

No one is trading orbs because they are so valuable.

All of your points are amazing when you create the perfect scenario for them, huh? Whodathunkit?!

Nevermind the fact that a lvl 87 that has been farming for three months should have acquired plenty of other trade-worthy items in that time...
The system is fine as it is right now.

And full respect would be P2W.

So, no to pay full respecs.

:)
I can paint you thousands of scenarios where it would be great to have this feature. But you would always find a way to say you don't like it because your opinion is different. I personally don't need to respec. I am happy with rerolling but won't need to because any build is playable.

Unfortunately this feature is very appealing to many people, and the best way to impliment it would be in default. And again, it's not as if I was proposing being able to respec at will. Once per character is enough.

I am being reasonable in my compromise of both sides. Reason being is that I am part of both sides. I don't need a respec, but It would be great to use one if I ever did. Some of you people however are being completely unreasonable. That makes you look bad.
No, destroying the importance of hard leveling with some build for better PvP or end game action, by making them respecable with ease at the end is what's bad.

Play necro in the beginning, switch later on. Necro requiring basically no gear and easy mode.

Beat game, get items, respec quickly to build of your choice.

This destroys the uniqueness of some builds, which can be had with many many regret orbs (time consuming). Or by building them from scratch. Getting rid of the grind, in a grinding gears game, seems rather, odd.

Btw, I get tons of PMs about my witch. I'll get to yours when I can.
The game already gives you enough respecs to do a full one pretty easily around lvl 30. What more could you ask for?

I agree with Slayer allowing a level 60+ player to fully respec would be exploitable. As I said before the only compromise that I would be comfortable with is allowing players a one-time repec when going from normal to cruel.

Well that necro has to grind relentlessly to get the gear that completes his new build though right? And if after another 3 months of end game he decides he wants a different build, he has to start over since he already respecced.

This is also a good idea.

You're missing the point. Why should he be allowed to respec in the first place? (w/o consequences anyways).

Hell, since spell gems, and many others, gain vastly greater power while they're leveling, a necro build could socket those while they level, than respec once they were leveled enough. Thus skipping the entire pain in the ass of low lvl spell gems.

I guess I could say the same thing...why shouldn't he? GGG has been great with PoE and their community. If enough people want that option then and they decide to impliment it, I was merely stating a proposal that would piss off the elast amount of people. I get that "softcore" is competitive too but something is going to have to give to put this in the game. And if it's going to happen then "softcore" would be the most viable choice.

I get your point. The current system is good and it works. I actually agree.

But there will be players that don't and as OB progresses and the player base grows I guarantee you more players will be wanting respecs.

Again I am just trying to represent this possibility. Personally I'm fine with what we have.
