Full Respec......

I have always been very mindful of where I put my skill points in HC races or HC in general. I like the fact that YOU can make errors and pay the price while I make a better choice and have a little better time playing. I think its risky sometime to put points in places and it makes it challenging. Sometimes I go 2 or 3 levels with out placing one because i forget my build or am just winging it. Total respec whether giving for free or as micro tran would be a total bummer and I would agree that it would send some people searching for another game before they let you buy resurrect scrolls or something. You know the recipes for creating orbs of regret.. Trade some alchs/chaos for orbs also.. I mean you can get them so easy from quests or other players. This thread is pointless imo due to the availability of respec items already in game.

^This. They already said, that a full respec item would be p2win, so no full respec items/microtransactions.

But probably passive tree resets after huge balance changes to the passive tree, which are still possible in open Beta ;P

The elements are my allies.
The dead are my servants.
And fear...will be my closest friend.

Hello.
Please dont be rude on my question but what would be broken if we had a full respec option?
I just dont understand?
I think there should be one.... but not as a go to npc pay litle bit and you get full respec.
I see my self wanting to have a respec option just couse i heard that there is a new fun build and i want to try it out.... oh but then i have to make a new char and level it again.... that sounds dumb.
Maybe a werry rare "Orb of Mind" that will completley reset your skill tree.
The idea of the game is to create a character and build on it. If you want to try something new, make a new character and build it up. There's little RPG in a game like D3 where I can change every choice I've made in the game so far in an instant.

Part of the fun of ARPGs is making a new character and building it from the ground up. Why would you make another character in D&D?
Thats actually a good point.
I played D3 for a while and enjoyed the gameplay but in long run theres nothing to keep playng.
In PoE you have ladders, races, and other fun stuff hapening all the time.
+ the complexity of skill gems, support skill gems is much moor fun than picking up a skill and having 6 "runes" wich makes the skill just a litle bit difrent.
No respecs, roll another character, its the point of the game. If you want to try a different play style with the same class, farm gear for it with your current character and make a new one.

God forbid people actually have to put some effort into a video game these days...

Damn kids...
2 respec point per act X 3 acts X 3 difficulties
18 free respec points already in game

If you need more then that you should take some additional time planning out your build on your next character.

Also GGG will provide an occasional skill tree wipe if they make major changes in OB.

I gotta say, I don't see much benefit to a system where you have to re-do all the content many times to try out different builds. I've played games where respecs are cheap, and indeed, where you can have several specs that you can swap between in a few seconds as long as you're not actually in combat, and you know what? It works fine and there's plenty to do.

But, I can see the point of wanting to have a new build imply a new character. There's just one flaw with that: Names. If you have a name you really like, you are sorta screwed if you want to play a different build. Some people get sort of attached to characters, and having to delete and reroll to fix a build problem seems pretty expensive. Especially since you can't tell whether a plan is good or not without trying it, and if trying a build requires that you level to 60+ just to find out whether it works...

What if in this game there is actually NOT much to do and you compensate the lack of content by making people play the same stuff again and again ? ;)
