Full Respec......
Orbs of Regret just need to be a little more common.

" These Orbs are extremely important to those who plan to alter their builds at higher levels, or those who mess up a few points here and there. Orbs of Regret won't help you if you entirely screw up your passive tree, you might of as well re-rolled anyways. Increasing the drop-rate just devalues the Orb and any recipe the Orb is tied to, which plummets the economy. Divination Card - Emperor's Luck. Last edited by Isindel#2713 on Jan 20, 2013, 2:19:50 AM

Who cares what it does to the economy? The economy makes itself whatever it wants in a bartering based economy. I personally like the idea of a quest reward at lvl 100. Either a long recipe type quest that only drop for you upon reaching 100 or as a reward for hitting 100.

I almost feel like there should be an option, while I don't mind the way it is now I could agree that players may want to do a full respec and should have that option available.

I am against the idea of a Full Respec. I'm quite pleased with the current Orb of Regret's as they are. Even one full respec makes my character "no longer the character I leveled up" as GGG has said on several interviews. And I'm on their side.

Im strongly against a full respec. And tbh, if u want to fully respec at a high lvl - u can do that without much problem, since u should have many stuff stored for trading (orbs, good gear), just sell those for orb of regrets.
In cb i decided to change the majority of my build at around 60lvl, bought about 40 orbs of regret from different ppl without much problem - that did cost me quite alot, but hey, thats just the price for a nearly a full respec. " Outside of the re-spec at level 100: Any player that plays for the sole purpose of playing the trade game cares(and there are always people that play only for the purpose of trading), any player that wants there to be a decent economy cares. The economy just doesn't make itself, its influenced by rarity, how useful the item is and peoples desire for wanting/needing it. Many of the orbs can be traded for another orb at the vendor for a specific rate, which then again influences the prices on those orbs depending how easy it is to get the previous ones. Orbs or Regret aren't common, but they also aren't super rare. This is by design so players actually give a crap if they make a mistake in their passive tree. Edit - As for the level 100 re-spec as a reward, I can see it happen. But then that also goes against their design philosophy of wanting players to build their characters with a sense of meaning and history behind them. Divination Card - Emperor's Luck. I like the current system the way it is...Want a full respect at level 50? No problem, just get 49 of the respec orb.

Orbs of Regret are cheap enough to change the spec of the char. If GGG would introduce a full respec (p2w or not), i think many people are going to search another game. There a tons of f2p games for casuals available, PoE doesnt need to cater casuals to survive.
I also think full respecs are a big immersion breaker, maybe even a use limit of regrets per character would be fine. |
