ZERO Currency drop

well done about trying to remove bots; i guess you use some kind of basics script reading a basic account log server side; selecting those playing 24/7 and only playing inthe same areas far below their level...etc...

i play hardcore ladder for this reason, even if i hate to die in this game mode at least i hope i got less botters behind me...

Btw another good idea to identify botters when you have dooubts: automatically wisp them asking something, and checking the time it takes to answer.

That won't necessarily work. I've met some MSN porn-chatterbots which simulated typing (the client would say 'typing' for a while before the bot said something).

What will work is to give them questions which cause them to fail Turing tests, at least until the bot developers write in responses to the obvious questions. For a pornbot, "What color underwear do you want me to wear?" is not a good response to "Are you human?"

What will work better is to stick a photo of something on the screen somewhere, and ask what it is.

I would not mind not getting any loot for some hours if it helps to f*ck up the botters, they literally kill the economy. Keep up the good work guys.

botters already solved this problem: they cut out the part of the screen with the riddle and present it on another unrelated quiz-website where other people solve these "easy questions" to see the next porn or joke picture.

You do know that PoE has a very widely used /DND option, yea?

How do you know the difference between really, really bad rng and a bug or being flagged? Been having terrible luck for the past 10 hours of game play. Partied is okay-ish but solo I've maybe seen 4 rares in all that time which is a first for me. Never had such a low drop rate for items (currency and scrolls seem normal).

You know the difference when it has lasted for days or 30 straight levels, for example.

This is easy to say when you are not one of those falsely affected. Having been in the shoes of said members, I can tell you that it gets really frustrating, really fast. And it isnt just a few hours. I was receiving zero currency drops for nearly a week.

GGG doesnt exactly have 24h support, or 1000 support agents working the email. Resolve comes on their clock, and their clock alone. This could be 4 or 5 hours, or it could be 4 or 5 days. When you are long time players (nearly two years, myself) that have established the same playing habits for what feels like ages now, and suddenly you can not follow your usual routine, it is not as easy to swallow.

Everyone can go on about 24/7 players, farming way below your level, transferring mass items, etc... all they want. Whatever is triggering the flag system needs a serious overhaul. Ask alteration farmers about their daily habits. Or those that used to farm normal Merv all day for Andvarius rings.

Or players like me that when leaving Standard for a new league will literally just empty their stash to friends, family, or random players and simply walk away until the new leagues start.

There are MANY legitimate reasons for several of the situations that are more than likely causing accounts to be flagged. And as long as there are legit reasons, there will be non-legit flags.

My days used to be spent farming Normal Merv for Andvarius Rings and Rares for my Alteration farming. I would literally sit and do this for 12-16 hours a day if I was not working. I work from home most times, and as such have A LOT of down time that is usually filled with PoE.

I am not a fan of the end game in it's current state. As such, once a character reaches LV70+, I will usually toss on MF gear and dedicate that character as a farmer. When you have a 70-80+ character farming Normal Merv 75% of the day, every day --- I can imagine all sorts of flags going off :

-Farming below level zones
-Insane play time
-Multi-Clients/Multi-Boxing (not automated, obviously)
-Currency transfers from one account to the next (Hell, I have an account just for Wisdom stashing)
-One skill spamming (do not really need more than that with such a level deviance)
-Being non-sociable (unless I am trading up currency or selling uniques, I keep DND on)
-Repeated zone runs (you know how many times I can repeat the Caves in 16 hours?)

These are just a few of the things that should show as suspicious to many who are not in the same routine. But that does not make it a legit reason to cut off currency and figure it out later.

When accounts are completely cut off from currency because they MAY have the same patterns as botters, hackers, and other cheats --- it is a punishment on them, not the guilty.

Go ahead and ask an Alteration farmer, other than myself, how much their playing is hindered when you receive zero scrolls. You come to a halt real fast.

I have not responded since my account issue was resolved, but there are entirely too many people in this thread either more concerned with GGG boosting drops for others, which is completely off-topic, or simply making a mockery of those who truly are getting shafted due to legitimate game play habits.

You know what happened to my main account while I was flagged? Idk either. I havent been on it since. While flagged, I created a new account. While waiting for my account issue to be resolved, my new account surpassed my prior. I will not begin leveling another character simply because I was forced to take a week off, right at the start of a new league, because of somebody else's mistake.

So now, I have an account that has been used to support GGG for nearly two years that sits idle. Stash tabs going to waste. Weapon effects not being used. A couple of LV70-80+ characters collecting dust. And quite a few very sexy pieces of gear going unused, because my account LOOKED like a cheat.

I had no intention of writing a novel on the matter, but the flagging system in it's current state is doing more harm than good. How many will not bother with new accounts? How many will simply be afraid to play their accounts once they are cleared? How many will eventually grow tired of "slipping through the cracks", being accused, or simply being told that nothing was wrong and insulting their intelligence?

In short, until you have walked in the shoes of those wrongfully accused, you have zero room to speak. And GGG...for the love of god, use a damn watch dog or something. It may not be 100% effective, and all can be bypassed, but client side checks for hooks and injections are a helluva lot less error prone than this.

Is my account being flagged as well? Since 13.11.13 I haven't found any form of currency (I've found 1 map, but considering that I used to get 1 scroll of wisdom per 2-3 packs of enemies and the occasional orbs). And yes I know that 128 hours in less than 2 weeks seems fishy, but at the moment I have a lot of free time so decided to spend it playing.

If the problem is that I was grinding the Docks over and over - its because I was trying to find some better gear so I can go and complete the last quest on merciless difficulty.

If the problem is because your program detects too many clicks (from my mouse) - its because my mouse is broken and some times does a double-triple-quadruple etc. clicks when only pressed once.

And if the problem is because I've been using mainly 1 ability - its because I'm over the lvl of the zone and unless I get surrounded by too many mobs/monsters/enemies I don't need to use any other abilities.

Also I'm not sure if your anti-cheat program is watching for chat but I've been both trying to sell some crappy items I've found and also been semi-active in the global chat. Asking questions since I'm a new player. Also I've sent quite a few reports about people spamming sites for buying in game items and currency for real money.
No wonder they don't have enough money for decent servers to prevent desyncs, they don't even have the resources to respond to a simple e-mail. Guess I'll uninstall and hope to find a developer who cares about their customers. On the bright side, I only wasted a few days playing whereas you guys wasting seven years making a game which can't even function properly. Will be sure to tell my friends to steer clear.

Pft lol, you do know that they have previously stated that they are currently processing a backlog which means you may not even get a reply for several days whilst the 50 odd support staff try slog through it right?

Usually you would get a reply within the hour to an email but with the influx of people at the launch that's just not going to happen and never could happen given that they are not a big company, and they don't even give out automated responses like other far bigger companies.

I don't know if someone from GGG looked into my account or not, but now I get currency again. I reinstalled the game last night since the game kept crashing when I was trying to log in or create new character. (Before that I verified the integrity of the game cache on the Steam client, didn't help) So now everything seems normal.
