Is it really that bad to cancel a trade and accept a higher offer?
I try not to agree to anything until I'm sure, but sometimes you have to make that hard call...
What is more important to you, more "Currency" [in a game], or your honor... As I said, it's a hard call... EA IGN: We_Have_Monk_at_Home

Really? You think communism is the way to go? Please lets all be equals is bullshit. You get what you work for. Steve Jobs and Bill Gates worked hard for what they built, and you want to call them selfish capitalists. I HATE SOCIAL PROGRAMS. I live near Chicago and you wouldn't believe the Welfare abuse and insane drug/gang/violence.
You want a mind fuck? Go to college, work hard like me, pay a quarter of my income in taxes, and watch lazy assholes collect on my share. Get a clue man. "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

Do what you want. Personally I never let people like you in for "free" on 74+ maps. So, if you want to burn bridges with people .... go ahead.

The problem here is that this is the Internet. If you take the altruistic route and trade to the original guy he honestly doesn't care how nice you are because just like everybody else he is in it to make a good deal and you will probably never see each other again. As long as you give the original bidder a chance to up his bid, go for it.

I feel like this thread was created for self justification of poor trading practices. OP just keeps saying that he or she did not profit any more than if he or she would have gone through with the deal that was already accepted by OP and agreeing with the people that justify his or her practices.
Whether there was further profit or not has nothing to do with the principle of the matter. OP ignores the fact that he or she had entered an agreement with another player and didn't live up to his or her end of the agreement. Really, there is nothing further to discuss, aside from that I would also like to point out that the OP is contradicting him or herself. The title refers to an event where an agreement was terminated because of a higher offer and now says that there was no higher offer, but the same value in a different currency. take the internet out of it for a minute. Imagine you offer something to someone you know in real life, they agree, then they give it to someone else who offered a little bit more. I guarantee most people would be totally pissed. It's common decency to keep your word. If you don't, your word means nothing. Everyone here now knows if you promise something, there is absolutely no guarantee that you'll keep your word. Karma I guess, but if you don't care, you don't care. I know I'll never trade anything with you ^^

So, you posted you item in trade chat. Then you got a buyer. Made a group, got in instance and recevied better offer. Then you canceled trade, explained why you done such thing and, like a polite man, even sayed "sorry"... And, ofc (people these days -_-) you get endless rage in the form of PM's? WITHOUT receiving different deal or even some questions?
If is this is, then i dont see a problem - although i, persanally, will go with deal to the end. |

" People (mostly) dislike being dicked with. What you did was considered by some people as a dick move. It doesn't matter if you don't like it - that is, once again, how the world/people work. Accept it and move on or conform to the behavior that is more normally acceptable. If you were hoping to change people's opinions on this, sorry, it will never happen. |

If you both agree to an offer and then you back out after you've given your word, that means you are not a man of honor. The other person can freely PK you as revenge, or worse, put a bounty on your head. (In a perfect PoE)
