Is it really that bad to cancel a trade and accept a higher offer?
@Dignity loss
No, I haven't lost anything. It's just something that has crossed my mind, that's all. @Being dirty The thing is, this game is cut-throat as it is. It wasn't that I got a better deal in terms of currency--the value was the same--it's just that I got a better collection of currency (gcps vs scourings, fusings, chaos mixed together). There was nothing unfair about it. I did say hold on, and then I said this guy offered me this and this, so I'm gonna take his offer and the guy just said I basically suck for doing that, yet offered nothing to try to beat the asking price I set originally. Really, the only difference was one gave me mixed currency vs one that gave me of the same currency. Don't listen to these crybabies. Sell your item to whomever you want. The deal is not final until it's final.

I think the question is not would anyone else in the community be upset, rather would you if the situation were reversed? Integrity of charcter is a rare thing these days

You can do whatever you want but I wouldn´t trade with you anymore if I were this person.

I guess that's the nature of trading. Just try to be friendly and fair.

The amount or mixture of currencies has nothing to do with the fact that you had backed out of an agreement. You missed the entire principle of my response.
As others have said, you can obviously do whatever you want. It's on you how you want to be viewed as a person. In this case, you portray yourself as not being a very good one. Edit: You got a yellow post basically saying it's ok. Now, you at least have something to hide behind when you pull similar in the future. Though, trading like this is neither friendly, nor fair. IMO it's only dirty if the guy accepted to pay a buyout you had set to begin with, then someone offered you more than the original asking price. If that's what you did, then yes, that's extremely poor etiquette and you should've just traded to the first guy.
But if the item was in a bidding war anyway, it's whatever. There shouldn't really be expectations when you bid on something that doesn't have a set buyout. IGN: Smegmazoid

Some act as if anyone will ever hear of any of your transgressions.
There is no naming and shaming. And no one knows who anyone is once you change characters. The person you piss off will forget about you by the next day. Protip: always pretend there is another higher offer to make your price inflated by a few orbs. This is Wraereawclast. You are an exile. There is no friendly. There is no fair. ign defnob
