Also dislike this change very much. This will break like 80% of current existing characters.

Where are you getting these numbers?

By this logic I think we will see 53.26% decline in vaal pact builds! That much is obvious.

I see it in the eyes of men and beasts that i troll. It will take me to play the actual game when i am ready and i am not ready.
Vitalstatistix ftw.
IF the middle is blocked few things should be obvious right now:

- CI gets a huge nerf (IF VP is not moved)
- rangers get a huge nerf (iron grip not available)
- only witch can be a necromancer (Necro aegis placement + minion clusters prevents templar necros)
- CI + IR will be very costly. this again is CI nerf
- increased duration passives (for immortal call) will be placed where noone interested in them will be able to get
- conduit will be available for one class (yay, party nerf!)

in general none of this issues applies to scion. few weak starting nodes (that in very early game means jack shit) will not balance diversity out. i had fun playing several chars to 80s but after that release i really see no way most of them will be playable. good part - ill be able to get all the good gear i have and gear-up one character properly, so it is a lose-win situation for me:)
This is disappointing as I have a lot of builds that currently are fine and after release will still be possible to make, but ONLY if I relevel said build as a scion. I'll maybe lose or gain a few nodes, but that's all.

Feels rather pointless to make me relevel to 70. All this could be avoided if the starter nodes on the scion are connected to allow other builds to get through the tree. Yes, no other class has their first nodes connected, but come on, this class has 6 starting nodes and is a prestidge class. It's a unique case for a lot of reasons. If I can do it as a scion but better, sure. If I just plain can't do it as a marauder who will now need to be a scion to do it, why?

I don't mind changes, but changes that overall do nothing to my build but force me to recreate it as a scion for it to still be possible? Just go ahead and give my marauder a sex change and turn him into a scion for me, as that's all that's gonna happen.

I don't get all of this crying all the other exiles will still have very good specialized builds. Quite a few builds don't even touch the midtree unless its to grab a few nodes at a very high level. Besides where the hell else would they put the new exile on the tree??? We all knew if there was to be a new exile it would be dead in the center because the portrait has been there since the start of the open beta tree. Get over it this is a game about looting, having fun with others and soon PvP and if you're a min/maxer then you will know that the new exile will be good for some builds but horrible for others.

those arent nerfs to CI. Those are nerfs to CI builds that used those keystones. Quite a large difference.

A nerf to CI would be if IS was removed. As everyone who took CI takes IS. But not every CI used VP or IR

Lets take your ranger example: first - do we even now where IG will be located? no.
Second - what stops you about thinking out a new build which, instead of going through the middle to get Iron grip, moves through the duelist area, takes some usefull nodes there and than goes down for IG? Here: link is an example of a ranger build which gets to IG through the Duelist area. This specific build could currently be optimised by going through the middle instead of around, but i would dare to say that this is still viable (of course i don't know how the tree will look either, but it is certainly doable with the current one and i think GGG won't make the outer highways any longer).

For your CI idea - check my "experiment" which i posted on the previous page - yes it doesn't take VP, but with dropping either the way to ZO (and dropping the templar ES passives - which you could compensate in the Shadow area) or droping UV (thanks to available gear maybe) you would free up enough points for more moving around the tree, so maybe you could pick up VP instead of one of those.
