Chris confirms to go through mid: Scion or bust

Thinking from a solo player perspective, I'm wondering if there will be enough life% nodes available from the marauder side to keep melee as a possibility in higher difficulties.

Other than that, I look forward to trying the new tree out. If it ends up not working well overall, GGG will probably adjust things.

Relax people. It's a game, not life and death. :)
Personally I like the change. Anything to make class choice matter is great in my book.

I'm not even going to bother with Scion...I'd rather be strong in one area and weak in another rather than mediocre at several things.

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul...
Using a ranger and IG isn't really the best example.

There's a gem for that.
They should just do a full wipe on release. Then there will be no more complaints about nerfed characters. :>

I wish they would wipe everything except for character levels, but give you the option to pick quest rewards you already finished again.

I REALLY dislike this change but I'll give ggg the benefit of the doubt here.
This breaks several of my characters current builds in half, thankfully I play ladder leagues and those characters are dead to me anyway, BUT I know many people will be shocked by this decision.

What do people think about the mid being cross-able by scions only?

Its on that raptr thing where hes answering people questions, and there's a picture of the new scion starting area on the home page. For every class other than scion, the middle is now totally ruined.

My version of the center
Note that passages through the middle are possible, but they all tell the player "hey, you could have made this build as a Scion." So no class would ever be better than Scion at cross-tree stuff, but you could sometimes pick different classes for aesthetic reasons, so it's not a non-stop Nicole Kidman fest.

Spoiler

Almost the same travel distance. I feel it maintains the sense that you don't have to be Scion to cross the center, but that she does still have much more versatility when doing so. Will it encourage more build identity compared to what we have now and the release candidate seen in the interview? I don't know.. It might be best just to make the middle exclusive to Scion.

The centre tree in those screenshots is just ridiculously bad compared to the current one.

For me the scion will have a major weakness, and it is the ability to specialize, whereas other classes can specialize if they want, but scion seems to be more of a jack of all trades, or be good at least 2 things instead of great at 1.

Of course you could already do this with other classes, but this one seems to force you to do that.

I actually like the overall design of the character and the backstory even though we dont know everything yet, so I will probably play due to that and not because I am expecting her to be overpowered or not.
