ES nerf and consequences - discuss

Well dunno if a nerf is always the best decision to handle things. As some people pointed out CI has gotton stronger only because it was nerfed less than life in the last patch. Before the patch there was certainly better balance between life and es at the cost of other problems, like damage spikes that one-shot everybody etc.
Only the devs know the exact numbers...so maybe the decision was correct and ES just hasn't been reduced in accordance with mob dmg and life. We gotta see how everything plays out.
The cool thing about the actual state of ES (right now/prepatch) is that melee builds got more popular. There is this dual strike duellist build etc. Some streamers tried out melee for diversity. I also thought about making a melee build. Well you know how it is, you create a build then stuff gets nerfed suddenly and you are screwed :) I also believe for melee chars the change will be most significant. Not so much for the other chars..
I wanna add one more thing: the amount of patches and rework that goes into this game is insane. Complaining about not enough content/change is not appropriate. Especially considering this is f2p.

On a side note:
People saying "dont nerf bla bla bla, instead buff this or that". That is NOT how PoE was designed to be. They did PoE to be hard. If you want easy, go play D3 or T2. Both great games. Easy, but fun. Let PoE stay hardcore. Time to put your manpants on.

and btw ppls who have 7k es will lost around 1k es total (koam give 1k hp for example is HUGE thing )

and I don't like nerf after nerf sure is still be viable to play it but my tanky style don't like it, this patch just made me concern to NOT back to poe any more after 2 weeks break simple next patch they lower es from 6k to 3k cause hp is in that way too

The es/ci nerf is nothing...even kripp agrees that the nerf is stupid. Also life builds are still trash without koams and how many people actually have koams?

I don't understand why people think it is easy to get 10k or other stupid amounts of ES. I have 6k ES and considering I only have 5% chance to evade and 18% reduction from armor if it didn't make me squishy enough now nerfed (and I consider my gear "end game")! Should have just brought life back to being as good as it was, now both are significantly worse then they were.

I'm eager to see just how much my energy shield number got raped. 85% to go!

this guy guessed a 600 es loss. I had 6.9k es before now ive lost ~1500 with the patch... WTF?
