Well that might have to do with the fact that there is a popular unique with armor and evasion that makes it so you cant use a chest. Also, 500 ES = 2k EV pretty much and a 2k ev chest would most likely sell.
this 'popular' unique item costs A LOT and is not popular due to price. definately cannot be the reason

why uniques that sell/are linked are almost exclusively CI uniques? (or few absurdly OP uniques like siege axe, lioneyes or that 'popular' helm)

people were faceroling using CI without even trying. HP builds HAVE TO take all available life nodes and then pray for +max life items. CI users tend to like dps nodes more and still manage without serious issues.

IR nerf is harsh for them (sadly, not only..) as it granted free armor. you had to take that few dex nodes on the way to IR anyway. now they are a solid cost. previously - these were a pure gain. grace+IR+determination+granite was a seriously OP combo (esp that CI users have a lot of space for granites)
Why can't GGG think before they act?

Why did they buff Shavronne's? Buffing it in a sense that it's now better than before compared to all the CI builds (AKA 99% of other ES builds)? Why the nerf on weak uniques such as Infernal Mantle, for which CI is pretty much mandatory.

I'm getting tired of GGG looking at 0.01% of gear and nerfing for everyone because of that.

I'm gonna take a break from PoE maybe... This shit is getting ridiculous.

Plus nobody is buying EV chest not even low priced ones.. I have a 5L 1200+EV chest I can't sell for 2 freaking GCP... pointless to try.

So you're saying said popular unique cannot be popular due to price, but 500+ ES chests aren't pricey as well? Most of those high ES chests are probably being sold 5 or 6l'd too, which makes them similarly expensive as that popular unique.

Everyone brings up CI when we talk about ES, but I don't know if the two topics are directly linked when it comes to balance issues, and here's why.

I think what makes CI so powerful isn't necessarily the ES nodes behind it. Instead, the problem is that the game has no other reasonable way to combat Chaos damage in Merciless, even if you gear solely toward chaos resistance.

Chaos resistance should be globally higher in the upper difficulties, simply because it can't be reasonably combated.

Maybe change to:

Cruel: −20% Elemental and Chaos resistance ----> −20% Elemental and Chaos resistance

Merciless: −60% Elemental and Chaos resistance ----> −60% Elemental, -45% Chaos resistance


Its danger dwarfs that of the elements and physical, and also rips through your ES, forcing ES users to grab CI or die with their pitiful 33% chaos resist. (This is the chaos resist calculated from being in Merciless with all available int chaos resist nodes, two perfect Amethyst rings, and a flask running.) This damage is inherently powerful to low life characters(those who generally reside in the int part of the tree) and it's hardly preventable.

It's more of a problem with Life vs ES, as well as Chaos resistance(or lack-thereof) vs Chaos Immunity.

Hey, at least you can kind of get some chaos resistance without CI now..!

Meanwhile, this hit to ES users only really affects those that aren't at ridiculous levels of ES...you know...those guys that seemed to have been the target and reason for this nerf?
