ES nerf and consequences - discuss

I kinda feel bad for anyone so heavily invested in ES that this small change will change (gimp, nerf, DESTROY) your build but really so much QQ?

Cant wait for the awesome game the last 5 pages of wanna be developers come out with, gonna be perfect, im sure.

There will always be people who want PoE to be "ezmode". They will cry and complain for DAYS, but wont put that effort or time into actually farming a character. Instead, they will blame the devs for ruining their time haha. It's an interesting phenomenon.

5 months of farming and my one CI toon that I have has a grand total of 3,2k ES before aura and 397 armor (yay for shield). In other words, those 1k ES chests have pretty much almost sum total of all my gear (sans gloves, I have some unique there). Self found only. Yea yea, balance for trading, whatever, so much different from AH, am I rite (farm->buy stuff)?
Just saying that not everyone has 8k+ ES 30-100k DPS builds...god forbid the changes would target those kind of builds with specific changes as opposed to blanket changes. As comparison: let's say discharge is OP...and GGG goes and balances it by all halving the damage nodes on skill tree and cuts the bonus that mods give in half and changes default charges to 1 instead of 3, remove conduit + can only gain 1 charge per 5 sec...sounds like a solid plan for balancing (instead of perhaps changing the skill damage a bit + how it interacts with other gems/skills).

Anyway, there seems to be a disconnect between players with assloads of good items and the average Joes and overall balancing of the game. Pretty much every patch lowers something on my characters and gives shit all in return. And the dialog between the havealls and havenots is similar to a millionaire spoiled blonde (yeh yeh, stereotyping) with room temperature IQ and drunk homeless person. Good lolzworty times :P.

The saddest thing is, that people can even make comparisons between hp and CI.

Are you sure? How can you judge that game we where planning to develope when you obviously didn't read past the two cases of slightly more blatant QQ on one of the very last pages of this thread? It's a bit of a shame that even constructive criticism or general concerns (which was the majority of this thread for the first few pages as far as i can tell) gets labeled as, or grouped up with, QQ these days. "tl;dr", i guess?

Also, while i'm not busy participating in planing the developement schedule for our version of PoE i'm also working on a new internet, you might like it - it's a place where forums aren't filled with tired old tropes, where people actually read threads to contribute instead of adding nothing at all or making heavily generalized blanket statements, where people realise that there's such a thing as constructively criticising criticism... it'll be awesome, you'll love it.

If your being constructive, please continue, I didnt direct this at anyone in particular on purpose. More of a QQ on QQ. Sorry your feelings got hurt.

Constructive criticism is great but aside from a few examples the majority of this thread and most others are filled with whinny, entitled people wanting GGG to make it easier or just stop making changes...unless those changes make their game better/easier.

I trust GGG and if they feel they have made a mistake they will reverse course and make changes to correct it.

The patch hasnt even come out yet for Christ sake.

Here is what this patch means for me. Quitting.

I would be lying if I said that taking a break from POE hasn't crossed my mind multiple times lately. The reason I did NOT stop playing is because at level 80, and massive gear upgrade, I finally got my character to where I wanted it to be. Imagine the joy of taking my FIRST offensive node at level 80!! OMG fucking bliss, I quickly upgraded last two piece of gear and respecced 2 more points to take 2 more damage offensive nodes, I was psyched man! At level 80 I had +10% Spell Damage, and 2x +3% casting speed, the rest was all defense. Fucking awesome. And the next 6 levels at least were all gonna be damage nodes, it was exciting, I wanted to play more and more.

Then this dumbass patch happens.

To regain the ES I will lose from this patch, I need to pickup 5 more ES nodes. So instead of being excited to grind my ass off for the next 5 levels, I'm borderline depressed. More boring ass motherfucking ES stacking.... I've been doing that for 80 levels, and now I have to do it even more. Forget it. GG GGG, fuck you, and I quit.

Do you really need that much ES? I mean honestly a lot of the people in this game try to use the kill a fly with a shotgun method instead of a flyswatter. 5K ES is enough to do anything in the game right now. Harder for sure but viable.

You don't "need" 10k ES you just want it. This nerf is not nearly as bad as some of you are making it out to be. Most of this thread is just whining that always happens when any kind of change in the game makes someones character a little bit less than it was before.

I honestly think half the people on these forums have no clue what viable actually means. Almost every build you can think of is viable in this game. I personally believe the majority confuse min/max builds with viable builds.

I run a lowlife CI build and NOT using shavronnes, and just farming Lunaris 3. And guess what, all I have is 1.7k ES and i do just FINE!

And here ppl qq that they only have 3-4k es and they gonna lose 200 of those? Cry more, then when done, learn to play...


On a side note:
People saying "dont nerf bla bla bla, instead buff this or that". That is NOT how PoE was designed to be. They did PoE to be hard. If you want easy, go play D3 or T2. Both great games. Easy, but fun. Let PoE stay hardcore. Time to put your manpants on.
