This game has a similar problem as d3- it's impossible to get good items without trading

There where thousands of rubbish items for every useful one in d2. At least until patch 1.10 in which everything other than runewords and certain uniques where basically a poor mans choice in itemisation, and even then you had to trade for them as you where unlikely to find the ones you wanted.

I'm not talking about ber runewords. I'm talking about finding ONE rare item better than blues I'm wearing IN A WEEK.

Which is not the case

Yes, but assuming you already got currency, you can either decide to craft or buy: buying would in that scenario be the "handed to you", "want it all now" and "path of least resistance".

I dont understand what you are trying to point out? you are trying to say its wrong of somebody to go item hunting and trade for the items they want with the stuff they find?

Chance-wise it's the same if I find a rare item or alch the white couterpart. Similar with chaos. And I find WAY more rares than alchs let alone chaos orbs. Way. More. And 99,999% of them suck for any of my 5 toons that can use 60+ gear (of mostly different types of gear that I want for them as to increase my chance of getting usable gear).

If you alt till you get 2 mods you really like, you improve your chances of getting a good item but hey...right after you regal it's the 1st RNG mod. And after that you need 3 exalts to make it whatever (RNG again). Problem here being that people find like 1 exalt per month/week or whatever. Regals don't exactly drop like candy. Same with scourings. But yeh, give me unlimited orbs and crafting is super easy. Nerf!

Point of all this being, people find it hard to deck out (beat RNG?) even 1 character let alone multiple characters for higher level of play. Are they in minority? Majority? Numbers...idk and idc, but there seem to be quite a few.

Another point being: with possibility of different leagues it's much easier to cater to different tastes. And if people leave the default or HC league for the new leagues why should it matter to the proponents of the current system since most of the time when ppl say "I quit coz...w/e" you get plenty of "bye noob" "don't let the door hit ya" or "scrub, can't even gear up, gtfo". So if people that want a new league leave for that league, all you "oh game is so ejaculatingly nice now" people won't be affected at all.

Ah I see, I misunderstood what you where saying; thats different then. I dont remember ever finding a rare worse than a magic item in closed beta. That really is a problem and very D3 esque :(
Just spend 420 fusings bankrupting yourself to 5L an item.

You will feel the joy and the madness, trust me
The rest of the 'end-game' content will be available along with a heap of new stuff when the game launches in a few months time. From what I've seen it's going to be awesome. - Michael_GGG

Yes, relatively speaking, trading is easy-mode "instant gratification" compared to crafting.

Ask yourself...

What is the spoken reaction if showing someone a nice item?
What are the comments when a new, coveted unique is introduced?
How does anyone describe their goal for a new upgrade?

The answers are.

How much did that cost?
What is this selling for?
I'm saving up to buy a new chest/weapon/...

Now if you can't see the problem, in a loot-find-game, I guess you think D3 worked, too?

Edit, here's another bizarre design in PoE.

A lvl 60 caster wants a new wand.
Does the best wand he can equip drop from the content he can do, or the content just out of reach that he will progress to soon?

No, it drops in a lvl 77 map and is there for him to buy, as a rare drop, crafted or white base item for him to craft with.

This design is so much D2jsp, path of least resistance, want it all now, trade simulator, fk you if you want to loot-find, it's unbelievable.
Casually casual.

I have 10 chaos and 20 alchemy orbs total. How much you will craft with that?

quite a bit. remember were going for good items not the best there is. I have never had more than 20 Alchs and always manage to get something decent spending around 10 or so. I mean really people when you say crafting sucks or something be honest the problem isn't not being able to craft usable gear its not being able to craft the best gear in the game without using insane amounts of crafting material. There is a big difference here none of you seem to want to admit exists, and instead try to lump it all together to hide the fact yuor just wanting to get the best gear a lot easier. Which may be a valid complaint but at least be honest about what you want so the devs can clearly see it and consider it.

Dunno how many times I've tried to get an upgraded wand, just to end up with phys dmg, attack speed, ele damage, accuracy, etc. and on the chance it does roll caster mods, it's almost invariably the bottom tier or two. Guess it depends on what you're trying to craft...

Would love to see items never be able to roll a mod more than 3 tiers below their ilevel.
No. Calm down. Learn to enjoy losing.
